Galaxy XCover 3 chassis leaks out - rugged Samsung on a budget

As if to prove that the Galaxy S6 won't be waterproof, or have a more rugged version, a Samsung Galaxy XCover 3 chassis has leaked out, indicating a launch that's not far away from today.

We kid, but Samsung has been outing more extreme versions of its flagships for the last two editions now, dubbed S4 Active and S5 Active, but those have always been quite pricey for the average roughneck out there. The XCover line fills the need for ruggedness on a budget, and the third edition won't be an exception, judging from the leaked specs.

Codenamed SM-G388F, the XCover 3 comes with a lowly Marvell chipset that supports 720p displays, so we wouldn't hold our breath for some screeching fast internals here, but for a phone that's bound to take on some abuse that's actually a good thing.

The new XCover has popped up in the GFXBench database, too, revealing a 4.8" 480x800 pixels display, 5 MP rear camera, and 8 GB of internal storage. The exact pricing scheme and release date are yet to be unveiled by Samsung, but given how ready for launch this one seems, we shouldn't have to wait much longer.

4.8" with a resolution of 480x800? I guess you can read the text if you hold it 2 feet away from your face and squint...

First off, the S Active models are not prcey considering what you get. You are getting a phone tht is completely waterproof, not water resistant and the phone is nearly indestructible. Making such costs money as the same is a rugged laptop cost more than one that isn't. Just like a 4x4 truck costs more than a 2.x2 model. Yet the iPhone cost more than the S Active models and it offers neither of its rugged capabilities and I have never heard you guys once say its expensive. Hypocritical much? The words you guys use when talking about Samsung products show not more than deliberate hate and bias against them. You don't so Sony and LG and other like this, so why Samsung? What has Samsung done to you?

*cough cough* Kyocera or Sony. Both make MUCH more appealing devices. Samsung is pretty awful. Laggy skin, incredibly overpriced phones, poor material choice... the list goes on.

I thought you already know that you are in the iPhoneArena already. Anyway, I like this phone and will getting this as soon as it is released, water resistant phones are a must have especially when unexpected accidents happen (just be sure).
