Front panel of Microsoft's first own-branded Windows smartphone leaked?
Yesterday, we told you that Microsoft could drop the Nokia branding from its future Lumia smartphones, in addition to dropping the “Phone” part from “Windows Phone.” While this remains to be confirmed, today we can see a couple of leaked photos that allegedly show the front panel of a future Microsoft-branded smartphone.

Published by French website NowhereElse, the photos present a pretty large handset with thin bezels - possibly a new flagship (but that’s just a wild guess). By the looks of it, this could be a successor to the Lumia Icon / Lumia 930. Unfortunately, the authenticity of these images cannot be verified at the moment. However, assuming that they present a real device, this may turn out to be a very nice Windows smartphone - a “Microsoft Lumia” smartphone, to be exact.

According to rumors, Microsoft is looking to drop the Nokia brand from its handsets by the end of this year. If that’s the case, the recently announced Lumia 830 and Lumia 730 / 735 could be the last Nokia-branded Windows phones ever.

We're really curious to see what Microsoft's Nokia-less future will look like. What about you?

well nokia 1520 had almost similar bezels other than the top bezel.....the thing that increased the bezel was the unibody design, the body was also the part of bezel other than glass...

yeah same here, but I would really like to see that nokia logo gone and get rid of it, it's now a symbol of failure and feature phones.

The edges on Note 4 and other galaxy series are more rounded.

microsoft is too long for a brand name for a phone in the front, IMO, that's why I have a feeling of disgust (not that much) on the names of samsung, and the carriers who put their name on front like verizon, and oh, that fugly amazon logo on their fire phone and kindle. for me, it's not pleasing in the eye, microsoft should be in the back and the "windows" button is enough to be recognized it is windows phone.

I thought the same thing I thought that they would have pit the Lumia name there. Seeing the Microsoft name there actually looks rather nice. Smart move if you asked me. I recall seeing early promos of Android L and it actually had said Google on the home button, guess they it wasn't real or they deserted that plan as well as the other homescreen they had for Android L.

We can only hope, although this could be an early Surface Phone. The Mclaren will hopefully live on through MS's Lumia line.
