Fixt is an app that promises a hassle-free smartphone repairy service

Developer: Fixt Download: Android, iOS
Category: Tools Price: Free

Despite being protected by reasonably durable glass, smartphones have always been notoriously vulnerable to impact damage. And according to a 2015 survey, approximately one third of Americans stoically carry around a hopelessly cracked handset! No wonder, that – getting your screen replaced can be such a hassle.

Unless you have a proper warranty that actually works out, the whole trial of locating a repair shop, actually going there, and waiting for service is fundamentally inconvenient, and potentially quite costly. The people at Fixt believe they have a better solution. They made an on-demand repair app which provides "concierge" repair services.

That is, Fixt's couriers and technicians can pick up your device, repair it, and have it brought back to you. The app operates with a network of skilled technicians spread across 25 countries and it lets users find the lowest price for a cracked screen, replace an old device, or have a technician come straight to the office. The whole process can be tracked online for your peace of mind.

Fixt is free to use and is available on Android and iOS.

So how does it work when you can't actually open the app because the phone is broken, lol.

install it on your secondary/backup phone.. but its kinda ironic if you only have one smartphone, install this program, and then its bricked, or totally unusable

You use Yelp and look at the reviews and be a stingy annoying person because you use Yelp

95% of the time, your phone is still usable. If not, you can call, email, text, or tweet.

At home in the UK, our town has 4 shops that will repair phones. In Washington DC I couldn't find one within the centre.

What devices do you have? It works with Android 4.4+.
