Find 9 could be Oppo's first smartphone to feature a Snapdragon 810 processor and 4 GB of RAM
Oppo might soon release a new smartphone from the Find series (which, among a few other models, includes the Find 7 - one of the world's first handsets to sport a Quad HD display). The new device is expected to be called Oppo Find 9, and its front panel may have appeared in a leaked photo somewhere in China.

The photo (seen on the left) suggests that we're dealing with a very large device - though we can't tell if it's larger than the 5.5-inch Find 7. According to Chinese website CNMO, the Find 9 might have an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and 4 GB of RAM, thus being Oppo's first smartphone to feature such powerful internals. There is no word on what else the Find 9 will be offering, but we're expecting all the other specs to be high-end.

Earlier today, Oppo launched the 5.9-inch U3, a MediaTek-based Android handset that might not be released outside of Asia. Unlike the U3, the Find 9 could be sold by Oppo globally. We'll let you know more about this as soon as new details are available.

Honest question: is anyone else a little disappointed by slow progression of phones over the past year? I own a nexus 5 and feel like I still have very little reason to upgrade.

It was bound to happen. Law of diminishing marginal utility. Simple example. Say you can quantify the excitement in terms of numbers. 1 -> 2 (100% increase, you feel like a great upgrade) 2 -> 3 (50% increase, good but less than previous) 3 -> 4 (33%, marginal increase) 4 -> 5 (25%, meh..) So, you can see that through natural progression we can incrementing by same value each time, but the utility you get isn't that much substantial. Next year, this utility will be even less.

And that is why you stop buying phones every 6 months or 1 year, and wait 2 or more years.

That's not a phone. It's a 6" slipper

Really? 64 bit plus twice the ram? That's slow progression?

Spec specs spec blah blah Doesnt matter is real life usage . Its funny how my note 3 feels faster than my friend's Find 7 even though we both have an equally heavy UI while he has a better specs 2K display and S801

I thought last year wasn't worth an upgrade, this year is looking pretty slow. Galaxy S6 going to be the only thing worth getting.

only if worth getting, until announced could be as marginal as S4 to S5 which was pretty little upgrade.

"MIGHT have an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and 4 GB of RAM" How about everybody read the whole article, word for word.

I think you need to read the article again yourself. Word for word. Or you can waste your time assuming that this company's next flagship phone will support a mediatek processor just because the U3 did, when the U3 isn't expected to sell outside of China while the Find 9 is.

As long as they make their phone bulky and heavy, Oppo's phones will never be my option.
