A leaked screenshot of some internal Best Buy documents shows that the big box retailer will launch the Motorola XOOM tablet on February 17th. The price shows as $699 for a non-contract purchase, but if Best Buy follows the same routine that they had with the Samsung Galaxy Tab, 1 month of 3G service with Verizon will need to be purchased to buy the XOOM from the store.
The first Honeycomb device to reach the market, Motorola will have some time with Android 3.0 all to itself before other Honeycomb flavored tablets get launched. So if you want to own a tablet with Google's Android OS optimized for a tablet, the XOOM will be the only game in town for a while.
