Fact or fiction: LG G5 leak-based renders and fan concepts
Ever since the critically acclaimed G2, LG has been gradually pushing the release window for its flagship series towards the first half of the year. So while the G2 saw the light of day for the first time in August, the G3 was moved to a May slot, while the G4 made it out of the labs in April. With LG having teased a "high-end" phone for its February 21st press conference, scheduled to take place during MWC 2016, it's easy to speculate that the LG G5 might be ready for prime time.

While leaksters have been mostly focused on Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S7 these past few months, quite a bit has already been revealed about the G5, too. Obviously, we can never be sure that what the rumor mill churns out is authentic, but it definitely won't be the first time that we get a good idea about a yet unreleased device.

With MWC 2016 drawing ever closer, we thought it's as good a time as any for us to round-up what leaks-based renders of the upcoming LG flagship there are. To make things more interesting, we decided to also include a few fan concept renders, which are really just designers having fun in AutoCAD or whatever the software of their choice. These are always tantalizing.

Let's start with renders based on rumors and leaks:

If you asked fan concept designers why they even bother, they'd probably answer along the lines of reality just being too boring. Sometimes that's true. Which is why we're always hungry for more. In the end, as species, we do always end up following the fantasies of our more imaginative brethren, so experimentation is not only cool by us, but needed!
