EA to launch new Sims mobile game on Android and iOS, first trailer released

The Sims franchise is one of the most popular series of games in EA's portfolio. Spread on all platforms and gaming devices, The Sims turns players into addicts with each new release.

As it happens, EA has just announced that a new Sims mobile game will soon be available for Android and iOS players alike. Dubbed The Sims Mobile, the game has been recently soft-launched in Brazil, so it's not available in other countries yet.

The Sims Mobile offers everything you would expect from a life simulation game, including a full range of options that will help players build the perfect Sims, along with lots of home layouts and designs to build a fantastic home.

On top of that, EA promised to add many social features that will even allow players to host and attend parties with other Sims.

EA hasn't yet announced when exactly the game will be released worldwide, but those anxious to give it a go can sideload the APK file if they don't live in Brazil to get it via Google Play store.

Those plus signs next to the money/simoleons...zzz. A great chance to have an awesome Sims game on mobile, but EA will ruin it with in-app purchases, no doubt.

No one likes in app purchases, but at the same team time I can't necessarily blame EA for going with the most lucrative business model currently around.

What the game need is smarter gameplay and smarter sims not just better graphics or more expansion. If you play the sims long enough you'll get bored at how repetitive and predictable the game is.

To be honest, having advanced intelligence for how Sims behave is probably a bit too taxing for mobile.
