Blind Camera Comparison: vote for the smartphone camera you like best

Blind Camera Comparison: vote for the smartphone camera you like best
It has been a while since we last had a blind camera comparison, don't you agree? Last time was over three months ago, when the Nokia Lumia 1020 devastated the competition, followed by the Galaxy S4 and the iPhone 5s, which took second and third place respectively. But which smartphone will reign victorious this time? Well, that's up to our readers to decide.

In the slideshows below you'll see three sets of photos taken with six highly-acclaimed smartphone cameras. Nope, we're not telling you which phones we've used for the shootout and we're not going to give you any hints. In fact, we've removed all EXIF data from the images and we've scaled them to a resolution of 3200 to 1800 pixels. Remember, the goal of this blind camera comparison is not to try to guess the phones. Just vote for the phone which you think has taken the best photos.

With that out of the way, let the voting begin! The poll is at your disposal at the bottom of this post. Oh, and by the way, we have a new camera comparison coming up next week so consider this a teaser.

Which phone's photos do you like the most?

iPhone 5s (Phone 1)
Sony Xperia Z1 (Phone 5)
LG G2 (Phone 2)
HTC One (Phone 3)
Samsung Galaxy S4 (Phone 4)
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact (Phone 6)

I wonder why when you save picture from htc one you can check that the resolution is 3200x1800. and you cant get that resolution from htc one. maximum is 2688x1520. so the picture must be stretched and it doesnt make any sense to compare it like that.

when will they reveal which phone is for each photo? if they don't then there's no purpose to this comparison. i want to buy the phone that i like its photos the most.

#4 is the GS4 for sure. It's always had the narrowest field of view and that's very distinct in the first set of photos. Photo quality confirms that as well.

Too many people trying to guess which phone they might be. I don't have any dogs in this hunt but I think #5 takes the best overall shots. They all blow compared to my N8 so I don't care either way.

As an owner of a Z1 I can tell from a glance that the night shots of phone 5 give it away. Being objective, it's between phone's 1,4 and 5 - the phone 1 is over-saturated. I went for 5 as it was best in 2 out of 3.

If you look at the photos with the magnifier, phone 5 has the sharpest images. Phone 1 TO ME had the best color and a VERY VERY close second in sharpness. It was hard to decide but I voted Phone 5 for its excellent sharpness in each sample.

these tests lack something, and that is a picture which is taken with a decent DSLR camera for comparision. then we can decide better.

I don't think they'd bother using the 1020 again (it's just too far ahead of the competition). The Lumia 1520 is a more likely candidate

Obviously phone #3 is the HTC One due to it's wide angle

Number 4 is the best for my eyes. I would never thought people would vote for #1. Colours of number 1 are so saturated and different from other photos.

I'm with #4 too after going back and forth between #3.

People vote for #1 because scene 2 is the only one where it's easy to pick out one phone from the rest due to those greens, and most seem to like it exaggerated. I don't like #1 much myself, even in scene 2 it clearly lost some detail due to excessive filtering.

i might be picking, but i want a comparison of photos that have the same zoom and same angle. it bugs me the most when they are at different angles. but hey that just me, the same guy who things smartphone's take picture as good as DLSR camera.

In my opinion , this competition is all about phone #1 VS phone #3 .

I've seen pictures taken with the Samsung galaxy note 3 and i think it is phone #1. i i feel that phone #3 is the lumia 1520 cause i have one and the colors of the pics are really close to the pics i take on my Lumia 1520. Voted for phone #1 though!

Phone 3 seems to have a wide angle lens.

Woa this is a really though one, I like most of the shots... But having to make a choose... I'll think about it Also PA remember my suggestion of having several polls and change the order of the devices on each one, that way is harder for someone to identify the device...

In the last test I thought the same thing! have a vote for each scene and see how it comes out in the end! Great suggestion.

I voted 5, but I must admit this time around I found the decission really difficult. 4,5 I find excellent 1,2 are really good (1 has good detail but wrong colors and some noise) 3,7 are good But overall I think 4 and 5 are the best ones too.
