BlackBerry Passport (including the red version) is $100 cheaper throughout Valentine's Day weekend

BlackBerry really wants you to buy a Passport this Valentine's Day, that's why it's taking $100 off the handset's price in the US, and $125 off its price in Canada. Thus, you'll be able to get the red Passport for as low as $599, while the black and white variants can be yours for $499 each. The new deal is valid this week-end only, and includes the unlocked BlackBerry Passport.

For $499, the Passport is definitely a smartphone worth checking out, especially if you need a hardware QWERTY keyboard on your handset. Sure enough, the Passport's keyboard isn't a classic BlackBerry one, but some may still prefer it over software keyboards. Plus, let's not forget that the Passport itself is a high-end device. It runs BlackBerry OS 10, and sports a unique 4.5-inch touchscreen display with 1440 x 1440 pixels. Furthermore, the smartphone features a 13 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable internal memory, and a generous 3450 mAh battery. Our BlackBerry Passport review will let you find out more about the handset.

In the near future, AT&T will become the first US carrier to offer the BlackBerry Passport - more exactly, a redesigned version of it.
