BlackBerry Passport (including the red version) is $100 cheaper throughout Valentine's Day weekend

BlackBerry really wants you to buy a Passport this Valentine's Day, that's why it's taking $100 off the handset's price in the US, and $125 off its price in Canada. Thus, you'll be able to get the red Passport for as low as $599, while the black and white variants can be yours for $499 each. The new deal is valid this week-end only, and includes the unlocked BlackBerry Passport.

For $499, the Passport is definitely a smartphone worth checking out, especially if you need a hardware QWERTY keyboard on your handset. Sure enough, the Passport's keyboard isn't a classic BlackBerry one, but some may still prefer it over software keyboards. Plus, let's not forget that the Passport itself is a high-end device. It runs BlackBerry OS 10, and sports a unique 4.5-inch touchscreen display with 1440 x 1440 pixels. Furthermore, the smartphone features a 13 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable internal memory, and a generous 3450 mAh battery. Our BlackBerry Passport review will let you find out more about the handset.

In the near future, AT&T will become the first US carrier to offer the BlackBerry Passport - more exactly, a redesigned version of it.

Amazing deal! This phone is insane, the battery life is incredible (lasts 2+ days) and the speed is ridiculously fast. It's got 3GB of RAM and the camera is sweet too! By far the loudest external speakers on the market with great quality. Apparently the 5" full touch Z30 is also on sale and the low end Q5 qwerty phone is too. (Check the Blackberry website).

That design kills it for me.

And the BB 10.3 OS has Amazon's Android app store native as well as the Blackberry app store, so it has all the top apps that I use. I wish I had off gotten mine this cheap. I had an iphone 5 before I bought the Passport and I'd never go back!
