Bandai Namco's Tekken Mobile release date gets revealed: it's soon

Bandai Namco has just shared more information about the upcoming release of Tekken Mobile, the iOS/Android version of the beloved fighting game franchise that will have players engage in multiplayer matches against one another in heated... card battles. Yes, you read that absolutely correctly - Bandai Namco has gone the CCG way in the vein of Hearthstone, The Elder Scrolls: Legends, and multiple other card games that are popular right now.

The game will be officially launched on Android/iOS in the following locations at the following dates:

  • February 1st: Latin America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, South East Asia
  • February 15th: UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, Russia, Benelux, Singapore
  • March 1st: United States, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong
If you pre-register for the game (which you can do right here), Bandai Namco will throw in some sweet bonuses for you in the form of coins, gems, and card stacks.

So far, so good, but... we can't help it - that's not exactly the mobile rendition of Tekken we've hoped to see. A run-of-the-mill card game wouldn't satiate our hunger for a high-quality mobile fighter that would ever so slightly help us relive certain childhood memories. Oh well.

Tekken was one of the first game I played on the playstation platform and while I'm really tempted, this is not going to be what I hoped for. Card game? No thanks.

i bet my ass its going to be yet another freemium title. nice. we have all the accesories needed, all the horsepower for graphics, but we're still wasting it on... this? the app stores are just riddled with cashgrabbers like, most likely, this. guess handheld consoles are still worth it lol

Tekken, another card-based battle game? Looks like this game isn't... in the cards... for me.

Soon??!? How come I already playing it? I just downloaded it yesterday. Well... Graphics wise its good but the loading each round is so annoying it takes almost forever before you can play. The game control is so basic you dont have the screen joystick it's like marvel champions. Swipe here and there control. I'm from Philippines btw.

Thank goodness for game emulators. Get the full experience and no freemium or other methods of payment to play.
