Asus ZenFone 2 wins IF Design Award; phone to be released on March 9th
The Asus ZenFone 2 has picked up some recognition prior to the official March 9th release of the device in Taiwan. The handset has been named the winner of the IF Design Award for 2015. Asus' official Google+ page congratulates the ZenFone 2 for "top design in innovation, ergonomics, and functionality."

As we've told you, there is going to be a few versions of the handset. One, with a 5.5-inch 780 x 1280 resolution screen features a 1.8GHz Intel chipset and 2GB of RAM. This model scored over 50,000 on a recent trip to AnTuTu. The other model will feature a 1080 x 1920 resolution screen, a 2.3GHz processor and offers 4GB of RAM. The first model is priced at $299 while the second model costs $439. A cheaper $199 5-inch model is also coming, and other models powered by Qualcomm and MediaTek silicon will rollout to specific markets during the second and third quarter.

The ZenFone 2 will launch in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, China and France next month. In April, the ZenFone 2 will launch in the United States, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Italy. Japan should see the device in April and May while those in Brazil should be able to buy it in June.

Apparantly the 5 inch ZF2 is the one that is $199. A bit deceptive by Asus as they hadn't mentioned anything about the 5 inch model during the reveal of the 5.5 in models.

If Sony actually ends up selling Xperia or ending its mobile division, I might get Asus. I was in love with the PadFone series, but they were too hard to get and expensive... but in 2 years we'll see.

"It has a speaker, they copied the iphone" "It has a color screen, it copied the iphone" "It has a rectangular shape, it copied the iphone" "It has a power button, it copied the iphone" "It received cellular, it copied the iphone" But, don't worry iphone fans, it isn't made of unicorn horn like the iphone is.

It looks like metal unibody. The trend now is going metal/ or glass or else lose some money.

I am happy with my Zenfone 5. I think its design is better than Zen 2.
