Apple puts the kibosh on the Smart Connector for the iPhone 7 Plus?
We have heard so many rumors about the Smart Connector feature seen on the back of Apple iPhone 7 Plus, that the latest one seems to be a fitting finale. According to the Weibo page of @KK, a tipster who has been the source of many photos we've seen of iPhone 7 prototypes, Apple has put the kibosh on the inclusion of the Smart Connector for any iPhone 7 model this year.

After testing the magnetic based connector on the iPhone 7 Plus, Apple apparently felt that it was not a good fit for the handset. If this rumor is true, that means there will be no Smart Keyboard accessory offered for Apple's phablet in 2016. The Smart Connector is used by Apple on the Apple iPad Pro so that the Smart Keyboard can quickly connect to the tablet. The magnets pass power from the tablet to the accessory, and data is goes back and forth between the slate and the keyboard.

We won't know about the legitimacy of any of the rumors we've been passing along until September 12th. According to Evan Blass, that is when Apple will be introducing the 2016 iPhone models. Keep in mind that this date is a rumor, too.

@KK has shared his latest collection of pictures starring the Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus. You can view them by clicking on the slideshow below.

So Apple has changed the antenna lines, and now this is called a new design? Really. Maybe the car manufacturers should take page out of Apples handbook. Maybe they should add racing stripes to some of their cars, and call them a redesign change as well. The car manufacturers might be able to copy Apples propaganda crap to make more money.

Unfortunately, the design of the "new" iPhone reeks of 2014. I think Apple made a huge mistake in choosing not to give a full facelift to the iPhone 7. People I know with iPhone 6 phones have told me they will not upgrade now based on it's similar look, let alone removal of the headphone jack.

Nothing really new so I guess it's ok, there's not really anything to like or dislike about them honestly. If I like anything, it's that the dual camera hump isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Just as ugly as the last ones. Moving ugly plastic lines does not change they are still ugly plastic lines .... and that offset bulge yuk!

Apple is too confident (not to mention successful) to care enough about creativity. It's just a lost cause at this point.

I think it looks better without the antenna bands on the back. Disclaimer: I am a Galaxy S7 owner, I do not have an Apple logo tattooed on my lower back.

IP6 Fugly Edition. My i5SE is better looking, accept those big ugly bezels, and the big bezels on my Z5.

iPhone 5/5s/se is my favorite behind the iPhone 4/4s. With that said, the 6 series is not ugly. It's just not the fan favorite due to the antenna lines. To me, it's the 3 best looking iPhone. Not bad, but definitely not the best.

I know that these are just rumors though but if its true then... *facepalm* pretty much the only thing left on the ip7 series that I was looking forward to. "After testing the magnetic based connector on the iphone 7, apple apparently felt that it was not a good fit for the handset" When I read statements like these, I start to really value the Moto Z even more. Those guys simply Killed it. As for guys like LG, I also commend them for trying something different along with Motorola. Despite their limited resource, you still see them trying, pushing themselves to bring something meaningful, new, innovative to the industry. Then again, come to think of it. So, apple couldn't implement 3 smart connectors on the back of the iphone 7+?.. To be frank, Don't really know why apple isn't really leading on the hardware front tbh.. They are kings of incremental updates to their phones with utterly lazy engineers, otherwise with all their wealth, I don't know how they aren't figuring a way to make it work. Basically the only feature I was excited about about the iphone 7 series.. Smh Just take a look at Motorola (Lenovo), the Moto Z has 16 pogo pins, a clip, a hardware data line and magnets all over its back while still managing to look fantastic. Yet, apple couldn't do 3 smart connectors on the back of the iphone? Smh Honestly, the Moto Z knocked it outta the park. *Take a bow Moto*

You're completely right, even staunch Apple customers are getting sick of this same'ol-same'ol bulls**t that is a redundant, boring slog unlike their iPod years, where every iPod had something new to bring to the table, or at least another convenient design or feature (sans the third generation Shuffle. God that was cringe worthy.)

Another step closer to iPhone 6.. Smh. Not sure why are they even releasing it this year when they have got nothing major to show. Heck even the design is almost same.

And they need a show stopper, because, just released: Q3 (fiscal = Q2 calendar) sales report again shows iPhone sales to be down 15% in units, 23% in revenues. So despite the addition of another model, sales are still shrinking rapidly.

So the only thing that the future Apple iPhone models can truly compete with Moto Z/Z Force to stand out or against, the only reason to ever upgrade is cancelled... And people make Microsoft out to be lazy? smh. Never be afraid to think outside the box, Apple, though most of the time you are. Note: I've followed the history of Apple devices before the thought of an Apple phone was more than a pipe dream, so believe me when I say this Sh*t is boring as hell. The iPod distinguished itself a lot more interestingly than the current slew of iPhones...
