Apple publishes photos and videos taken with the 5MP iSight camera on the new iPad
The 5MP iSight rear camera module in the new iPad is just the resolution of the shooter in the iPhone 4, but it features a 5-element lens, like the camera on the iPhone 4S, f/2.4 aperture, back-side illumination (BSI) for better low-light performance, hybrid infrared filter and image stabilization

This time Apple is also in possession of a powerful A5X chip to process all those 30 frames per second coming through the iSight's optics, so the new iPad is capable of capturing Full HD 1080p video, whether you need it on a tablet or not.

Apple has uploaded some sample images and videos on its website that are taken with the 5MP iSight camera on the new iPad. They look great for a tablet camera, but, as usual, official sample shots should be taken with a grain of salt, so the jury is still out how the camera will fare under less than ideal conditions.
