Apple publishes photos and videos taken with the 5MP iSight camera on the new iPad
The 5MP iSight rear camera module in the new iPad is just the resolution of the shooter in the iPhone 4, but it features a 5-element lens, like the camera on the iPhone 4S, f/2.4 aperture, back-side illumination (BSI) for better low-light performance, hybrid infrared filter and image stabilization

This time Apple is also in possession of a powerful A5X chip to process all those 30 frames per second coming through the iSight's optics, so the new iPad is capable of capturing Full HD 1080p video, whether you need it on a tablet or not.

Apple has uploaded some sample images and videos on its website that are taken with the 5MP iSight camera on the new iPad. They look great for a tablet camera, but, as usual, official sample shots should be taken with a grain of salt, so the jury is still out how the camera will fare under less than ideal conditions.

I wonder how stupid would I look while recording a video or taking a picture with a tablet?

I seen it, looks very stupid and funny at the same time. I just wish Kodak or anyone, made a portable device capable of fitting on the palm of hand to take pictures.

What is the Big Deal, about have a good camera on apple tablet ? every single Android tablet come with (High resolution camera form long time ago) I did not see nobody complaining ,or criticizing. now is silly because Apple have camera on tablet !!! P.S nowadays all these electronic devices are so expensive that that's the least they can do, put good components, aka camera sensor, processor, memory, HD Screen come on guy let support the technology advance...

Agreed but that advancement should have some utility. A high Mega Pixel cam on Tablets is useless and even if one tends to use it, its plain funny I second NaveenStuns comment.

God, what a bunch of juvenile dumbbots. "Like, we can't like, take our pictures like with a dumb, like, tablet. We'd like, look so like, stoopid". IDC how one looks. This technology is perfect for recording little 30 second demo snippets of my band and then showing to bar owners who ask if we have a demo when we go looking for jobs. IDC how the camera-person looks doing this in my practice space, or at a bar recording us live. Shoot, the cost of renting a studio alone to do this half pays for my IPAD4. Sheesh!!!
