Apple brings its '12 Days of Gifts' app to US users for the first time, freebies start December 26th

Apple is bringing its "12 Days of Gifts" undertaking to US users this year, starting December 26th. The freebies will continue until January 6th, and can be accessed by the dedicated app over at iTunes.

So far the app has been available to iOS users on the Old Continent and in Canada, but this year Apple is feeling generous towards the humble iPhone and iPad owners in the good ol' USA, too. The freebies consist of various offers each 24-hour period, which can be apps, music, books, movies, and so on. These are valid only for the given day, and if you don't take advantage, the offer will be gone, and the next day there will be something else.

Overall, free is free, so go get the 12 Days of Gifts app from iTunes, and start downloading goodies the day after Christmas. Apple does warn that "Not all content is available in all countries," but at least this year the US is included in the giveaways, be it for iOS 7 users only

Curious why it's limited to iOS 7 users? Fragmentation? Coal for those that can't update.

I think we usually get 2 or 3 'keepers' - the rest are usually tripe!

I wouldn't expect too many great titles... But hey, one thing sweet about iOS is that there are already quality goodies going free ALL THE TIME (just take a look at AppShopper, AppZapp, weekly selection in iTunes Store, etc).
