Antenna issues may have carried over to Verizon's iPhone 4

Antenna issues may have carried over to Verizon's iPhone 4
Apple may have not solved the Apple iPhone 4’s antenna problems after all, as this video shows evidence that a “death grip” like the one made famous by the AT&T version is also present on the Verizon version.

The death grip found on the Verizon version of the Apple iPhone 4 affects cellular signals, as well as WiFi. If these claims of antenna issues become more and more common, just as they did after the device launched on AT&T, will Apple resort to free bumpers again to solve the problem? Check out the video and tell us what you think in the comments below.

nobody lol I just gave my verizon iphone 4 the ultimate death grip and it only lost one bar out of five. Not a big deal at all. I doubt anyone will ever squeeze their phone that hard when they are using it unless they are getting frustrated at angry birds. Give it up noobs.

I hold my phone like that, so it's a big deal to me!!! Apple has been a computer company for 3 decades, of which they are great at, but have only been making phones since January 2007. They have a lot to learn still....

I think that if I loaded my phone with 100 psi, it would be altered in some way too... Does he hug all his phones that way, or just ip?

@tarbndr Android phones not Droid phones. For some reason it bugs me when ppl call all androids DROIDS. Droid is a Brand of phones, android is the OS

DId anyone else notice when he "hugged" his phone the vzw signal seemed to improve, should have tested it that way on 3G :) Maybe it would be even faster lol

I an not a fan of the iPhone (Droid X is king!) but I have got to call BS on this one! The guy is completely cupping and covering every surface of the phone. Who surfs the web like that? Don't create a fake issue. Enjoy your phone and don't worry about what happens when you hold your phone, in a way you would never really hold your phone!

Maybe the guy is an AT&T stooge who was contracted to find a way to replicate the AT&T iPhone antenna issue on the VZW iPhone as a way to sow doubt in consumers' minds? Desperate times call for desperate measures....

I am not defending iPhone, I am an Android guy, but there is no way you can saythe Storm was crap because of the network. It was just a crap phone! And how the hell can you compare the iPhone to the pre-mature release of the BB Storm???

yea that would make sence if verizon actually manufactured phones. that BB means Blackberry, as in RIM made it not VZW. What a tool. These videos all irk me. They all talk about some crazy death grip where u gotta basically squeeze ur phone to death. noone does that in real life. the att iphone4 didnt have just that issue.. it had an issue where u would simply touch the left side and it would zap the signal. why does PA keep posting these idiotic videos?

All hadnsets are tweaked by the network that is gonna carry it, exept the Iphone, make you research b4 bashing some one fanboy.....!!!!

"Make you research?" WTF?? Are you European or some shit? Cause if you're not you should be embarassed to type like a five year old. You know what, I take back what I said, keep posting with your whack ass grammar. If this is what you really think and how you really talk in real life, I'm GLAD you're not on Verizon, cause you're just making us look good right now. It makes me feel good knowing you're out there frustrating some poor AT&T rep when you can't figure out how many WIFI's or GB's are on your iPhone.

Why? Because Phonearena has been trying to discourage its readers from going for Verizon since it was announced. Almost every article regarding Verizon, and especially involving the iPhone, has had a negative slant on it.

You're an idiot...This site pushes the iPhone in every article it writes. It doesnt matter if its Verizon or AT&T or if it's just an article saying "iPhones are super cool"...Verizon doesn't deserve the business, hell the service barely works here in Maryland, maybe thats why they dont push carriers, because it matters where you LIVE if the service works...Phones the hardware is the hardware no matter where you live...and the iPhone sucks EVERYWHERE anyways.

I agree with you Sniggly. The last few arrivals have all seemed to be very much anti-VZW iphone. Look at the last one about VZW mixing up customer orders. How could they mix up ESN numbers in original packaging? If the wrong ESN is in the box, that means Apple messed up, not VZW!

Another Apple screw up that fan boys will blame on the end user. Who holds their phone like that? Apparently no one that wants to be able to receive a signal with an iphone. I hold my phone any way I want and it doesn't change the reception one way or another. Let's hear all the excuses for Apple now...

First off ,I agree WHo holds their phone like that anyway?Second, the iPhone4 isn't even a 4gLTE ...Yes I'm glad that VZW finally gets the iPhone after 3.5 years but they still got to wait til 2012 to get the iPhone 5 which I could care less. The Moto Atrix4g is what's popping now esp w/pre-orders on 2/13 along w/the Bionic which is waaayyyy better!!!

Who cares about HOW he holds his phone...the point is the phone signal SHOULD NOT BE AFFECTED by how you hold your phone!!!!

Actually it should be. There have been plenty of phones for years that have a sticker on the back of the phone saying do not touch phone in this area, internal antenna. I just looked at my old Samsung Omnia and it has a sticker that reads "Internal Antenna Area. For best performance, Do NOT touch this area when using your phone."
