Android 6 Marshmallow vs iOS 9 visual inteface comparison: we have a clear winner!

Apple and Google are pretty much done for this year in terms of operating systems. With iOS 9 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow officially out, we don't expect either of the giants to unveil anything exciting anytime soon as far as operating systems are regarded.

To be completely honest, both Android Marshmallow and iOS 9 are certainly not oriented at visually overhauling the platforms; on the contrary, both are centered around under-the-hood improvements that aim to enhance the user experience on a more basic, fundamental level by focusing on things like performance, battery management, and general feature polishment.

We've reviewed both, and guess what, there's little not to like about either of the platforms we mentioned. But which one do you like more? That's a question that has been lingering in our HQ for some time now. Hoping to put it to an end, we decided to devise a visual comparison between the two venerable mobile platforms and allow you to vote for your favorite one in a series of different polls.

Well, you voted, and guess what, we have a clear winner, and it's Android 6.0 Marshmallow! With a final tally of 13,793 votes, it beats iOS 9, which accumulated 7,785 votes in the voting comparison. Marshmallow tuned victorious in 7 out of 8 categories that we compared, while iOS emerged on top in the camera interface. We guess we are not the only ones that feel the stock Android camera app needs an overhaul!

You can find the full breakdown of the poll results in the gallery below.

As a Note 4 user, I couldn't care less about customizing. When I have to use the phone, I unlock and use the app I need/want. I don't sit there and stare at the screen to admire my customization. Customization is not for everyone. So, with that said, yes, iOS is boring if you are after customization.

I agree. One thing I really like (and you CAN do it on Android but it is not stock) is the translucent shading on the Notification and Recents tab. I really love the look of the Keyboard, but functionally the keyboard drives me crazy (Letters do not show upper/lower case based on useage, hard to use numbers, not dedicated punctuation, etc). Overall I love Android. And Customization is not for everyone but Android doesn't require it. You can simply unlock and select the App you need. You can put your App Shortcut anywhere on the homescreen, folder, or keep it organized in the App drawer. Or launch it with your voice, or gestures, or automate a task with Tasker, or from your watch, or whatever.

If it was like this, then the winner would've been Apple, since there are a lot of lost iFans out there.

Imo, wp aesthetically looks the best of the three. Black themed, sleek, very pro looking. Only thing I dislike is the tiles and os animations.

Some parts of iOs are more visually appealing to me too.. still, i'd choose functionality all day.

All day, any day. However, I don't think iOS aesthetics is an excuse for them to be less functional.

It's a matter of different taste, however Android can be easily customized to look whatever please you... From icons to launcher... And functionality is currently better than iOS

yeah and if you feel you are in the mood for use ios you can simply download 3 or 4 apps and your android will look exactly like IOS, if you get tired after some time you can go back easily to android interface, the same with Windows Phone or Mobile. The beauty of android! you can do whatever you want to do with your phone

You asked, he answered. If people truly value OS updates, then they know what Android phones to go with and which ones to avoid.

My Motorola didn't get Marshmallow last week, and I don't think the carrier model 2014 Moto X is ever going to get it.

Nexus devices, the G4 in Poland and some Moto devices. But seriously, what does the amount of devices on Android M have to do with the fact that iOS is ugly and boring?

"OS with the better looking wallpaper?" SERIOUSLY?
