Alleged Moto X (2017) leaks in the flesh, boasting a metal chassis
A 2017 roadmap for the expected Moto lineup has already been leaked, revealing model numbers for the company's expected releases next year, and it did include one Moto X (2017). Fast forward a few weeks, and said Moto X has appeared in flesh and blood in what looks suspiciously like a testing lab, as if to confirm its upcoming launch.

The phone bears all the hallmarks of the Moto line, with a big round camera area on the back, but seems to be entirely made of metal, as is the trends nowadays. The antenna lines have been pushed to the edges to ensure adequate reception that won't be hindered by the metal chassis. No word yet when will this eventual Moto X be announced, or whether it will make its way Stateside to US carriers.

I'd probably buy a Moto X 2015 as a tribute to Moto designs under Google.

Moto X 2014. Perfect size, great specs for the time, minimal bezels.

I still use mine as my daily phone. I wonder how this new one will compare size wise and I don't want anything much larger. Sure seems like there is a lot of wasted bezel.

It went from charismatic Moto design to an ugly ironclad look.

Let's just hope this is another mid/low end phone from Moto. It's simply unacceptable as a Moto X, when the G, M, Z's are all better looking. Unless the X line is made lower end.

One would think: E - disposable dollar store line G - quality low end X - upper midrange (which it always has been) Z - flagship But then they confuse the issue by offering things like the upper midrange Z Play. So who knows.

Why not build the fingerprint scanner into the M dimple on the back? That'd allow for them to shave off a ton of bezel and add a bigger display.

The Moto M has it yet the bezels aren't that thin either.

Nothing left of the original Moto X design. May those design R.I.P. such a nice design until 2015. What's up with that huge forehead and the big chin.. I hope this is a joke.

Looks generic, but not bad. At least it has that Moto X dimple. Just don't see much differentiating this from a Pixel.

A bit on the ugly side. Too much bezel still and huge camera housing from the moto z was never a good look to begin with.

No dual front-facing speakers! My heart is broken. I was holding out on buying anything else for that reason specifically. I guess the Axon 7 is still by best bet.
