"All New HTC One" name publicly showcased in London

Besides the numerous leaks giving us details about HTC’s next-generation flagship smartphone, we’re also getting official teasers directly from HTC. And that’s exactly what the photo seen above is. Tweeted earlier today by HTC UK, the image suggests - once again - that the upcoming handset will be called
"The All New HTC One."

The photo was taken at the Selfridges store in Oxford Street, London. Thus, everyone who happens to pass by will (probably) see that an all new HTC One is coming on March 25. For those who don't know, Selfridges is one of the UK's most famous high-end department stores.

Of course, March 25 is only the day when the handset will be announced. Or maybe HTC intends to start selling the new smartphone the same day? We can’t know for now.

The All New HTC One (codenamed M8) should run Android 4.4 KitKat, coming with Sense 6.0 UI. Thanks to a leaked video seen over the week-end, we know that the handset should be about the same size as the One that was launched last year. Expected features include a 1080p display, a twin-sensor rear camera with dual LED flash, an all-metal body, and MicroSD card support.

We still think that HTC should choose a different name for the new smartphone. What about you?

Sorry, but you obviously not looking things objectively. Superficial, so to speak. From the rumors so far it's pretty boring phone, the all new.

Holy crap all HTC had to do is keep the same premium body design. Improve the camera, add an SD slot. Integrate a home button with the HTC logo and keep the capacitive buttons. Increase the 'boomsound' (perhaps upgrading speakers and drilling more speaker grill holes) New software features (easy enough) Offer the phone in original machined aluminum and dark aluminum Improve on the screen (make it 5') and possibly increasing boom sound even more. BOOM say hello to phone of 2014 - and you all get to keep your jobs for another year

It should be "HTC One Mark II" then let Robert Downey Jr. do the advertisement again.

They could have called it the One Advanced, OnePlus...just something short and sweet: iPhone 5, Galaxy s5, LG G2, whatever. But the All New One? In general HTC makes great phones. But as Samsung and Apple have shown, marketing is a large part of the battle. Ah well, maybe folks will get past HTC's naming issues. I remember hating the name Rezound, but loving the phone.

I'd forgive the uglier design and uglier name if they bump up the battery life!

I got a chance to use this at a convention today. Build wise, the nicest phone I've ever held!! They had a great case with it as well that was kind of like blinds over the screen. You could see who was calling and answer calls through it. The camera has a great depth of field feature, but is still a 4 Ultrapixel...as far as the rep knew. Amazing build though. The Gun Metal color is gorgeous.

I did and the HTC rep said that it's still a 4 Ultrapixel. I inquired about any changes to the lens and he said that he hadn't been trained on the lens yet. I don't waste my time posting made up sh!t. I work in the industry and was surprised as sh!t when i saw the device there myself. Once it comes out and you see the case I'm talking about, you'll see what I'm saying.

so the final version is the same as we saw on the leak? does the bezel look bad or not that bad? any info what the second camera does? is it much bigger than htc one 2013? what about the screen? 5 ich more or less?

The extra lens was for post processing photos. It allowed for some amazing depth of field editing. The post editing software oftware allowed for some funky background effects after selecting a front nd center object. I asked him if the "twice as nice" promotion that had been teased ment that the lens was now an 8UP...He said "no". I believe the screen was 5" (i left that out of my barrage of questions). I can say that he device feels and looks amazing... The gunmetal version was what I saw and it was smooth solid in the hand. The screen was also very nice. As far as the reports of a revamped, more responsive power button... They are correct. It was very responsive. Oh yeah... The aux connection is at the bottom.

So basically, HTC is making an uglier phone than last year, with a funky camera and an awful name?

8. Bioload25

I dont think its uglier, its just less classy Its cameras seem awkward but if it can take good-looking pics its just fine awful name? name it as you like, its the same device after all I can call it the brand new HTC Two,HTC One+,HTC Galaxy or even Apple Orange Cherry,it makes no difference

All true. And of course I'm pretty open to it if it's a great phone. But this phone seems like a step in the wrong direction. The average consumer was obviously not at all considered. No consumer will see two cameras, an illogical name and a design worse than an older model and choose this over a well known brand. HTC needs/needed a killer phone that was as good as could be in every way in order to succeed. This is not that phone.

Are you smoking crack cheeser its about the same in design needed edge and raised bezel fur glass protection. Louder better sounding speakers SD card better camera maybe water resistant maybe same if not same or better soc maybe bigger battery then s4 and aluminum yup sounds like many steps forward to me

Maybe Its not the perfect phone for HTC,but its by no means underwhelming,at least as we can say right now Its camera system seems pretty good (it better be, costumers wont tolerate another failure),its chipset will be enough to run Sense and the heavy stuff we toss at it and,no doubt, its screen will be as beautiful as the phone itself (Im sure because I never heard about a bad screen on a HTC device)
