$59.99 buys you the Microsoft Lumia 640 for AT&T's Go Phone, from Best Buy
Back in May, when discussing which Lumia handsets would be getting Windows 10 Mobile first, Microsoft's Scandinavian General Manager Ossi Korpela referred to the Microsoft Lumia 640 as an affordable flagship phone. We're pretty sure that none of our readers would refer to the Lumia 640 as a flagship, but it is affordable. And thanks to a deal being offered by Best Buy, it is even more affordable.

First things first. The Lumia 640 features a 5-inch screen with a 720 x 1280 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 294ppi. A Snapdragon 400 SoC is under the hood, carrying a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU and the Adreno 306 GPU. 1GB of RAM is inside, along with 8GB of internal memory. In the likely case that you require additional storage, a 128GB capacity microSD slot is available. The camera on back weighs in at 8MP, with a .9MP snapper in front available for selfies. A 2500mAh battery keeps the lights on, and right now Windows Phone 8.1 is pre-installed.

You can now purchase the Lumia 640 for $59.99 from big box retailer Best Buy. We're not sure how long Best Buy will make this deal available, but we do know that you can pick up the unit for the sale price right now.  Keep in mind that this is a no-contract price for the phone, which is compatible with AT&T's Go Phone pre-paid wireless service.

I might get this as a cheap phone to play with WinOS. Plus it'll work with Cricket without unlock.

That is amazing value, better than the Moto G series unless you find the 1st gen for cheap

I got the 2nd generation Moto G 4G $24.99 for during a promo Cricket had end of last year if you signed up for service with them and ported a number. I had a bunch of T-Mobile SIM cards so I went with a one day Pay as you Go plan and popted the number to Cricket. My son uses the phone and it is more than capable for the kid's games he plays on the phone and watching YouTube videos.

Best smartphone under 100 bucks you can buy new in a store. Dare I say under 200 even. (ignoring OS to a degree).

Yeah. It's a great phone for how cheap it is. I have a Lumina 635 as one of my backup phones. I picked up a 640 for my father to replace his broken 520. I was very impressed with the 640. I kept telling myself that I'd buy a 640 if it dropped under $70. However it's hard to talk myself into buying a better backup phone when I just bought a refurbished Nexus 6 off eBay for $270 last week, plus I'm holding onto money to order a Nexus 6P and my Lumia 635 hasn't seen a SIM card in two months... Still...new toys are very tempting.

Saw this 2 days ago. I was really tempted, haha. And the unlock code is less than $2 off ebay for those using T-mobile or something else.

That is tempting. I wonder will it get the Windows Phone 10 update though.

Yes, the 640 is one of the first Windows 8 handsets slated for Windows 10.

Is this the 640 with 512 MB of RAM or 1 GB, because that is a game changer. If it has 1 GB then its a good deal. If it only has 512 MB of RAM, then put it back.

Can you post the link for this unlock code? Have you used it before?

No I haven't gotten one for the Lumia 640. I just grabbed one of these from Bestbuy just now, and I'm gonna order the unlock code very soon. I'll let you know here by the time I got mine unlocked successfully. I did get an unlock code off ebay for the At&t Lumia 635 and it worked great. Did the same thing for 3-4 other phones.
