128GB Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge no longer available in India
While Samsung did remove the microSD slot from the Samsung Galaxy S6, and no such slot is offered for the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, the company tried to placate consumers by offering a version of the two phones with a whopping 128GB of memory. But this morning, the 128GB variant of both phones was quietly removed from Samsung's Indian website.

The reason for this move probably comes down to price. In India, at launch the 128GB variant of the Galaxy S6 was priced at the equivalent of $970 USD, while the 128GB Galaxy S6 edge cost $1116 USD. Samsung cut the price afterward by as much as $140 USD, but it apparently was too little, too late. The high price likely led consumers to settle for a model with a lower amount of internal memory.

The 128GB versions of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are still listed on Samsung's websites in other markets such as the U.S., Canada and the U.K. And since Samsung India has not issued a statement, there is a possibility that the storage-heavy version of the phones make a reappearance in India sometime in the future. If we had to guess, we'd say that a return could take place just before the start of the holiday shopping season.
