10 Qi wireless charging pads for Qi compatible smartphones
Imagine if you could recharge your smartphone's battery wirelessly, without the need to plug a cable into its port. Oh wait, you can totally do this thanks to Qi wireless technology. Using electromagnetic induction, Qi enables power to be transmitted over a short distance – from a charging pad to a phone's battery with coils acting as transmitter and receiver. Among the smartphones compatible with the Qi standard are the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Google Nexus 6, and the Motorola Droid Turbo

To charge a Qi-enabled smartphone, however, you need one of the said charging pads. These come in various shapes and forms and usually sell between $20 and $60, depending things like design and features beyond wireless recharging. Where do you get one? Which one should you pick? The slideshow below holds the answers to these questions.

Which wireless charging pads are compatible with my iPhone 6? After spending $700 for my phone, I would like to at least try wireless charging.

You'd have to buy a case and I think there's a cable for it.

Well, that's stupid. I have to put on an ugly bulky case to get what the Samsung Galaxy S6 already has built in? $700 doesn't even buy me wireless charging? What kind of crock is this? Every day I think about this, the $750 Galaxy S6 actually seems like a bargain compared to my overpriced iPhone that barely does anything unique.

iPhone is expensive, but expensive does not equate the best. If you want the best device with wireless charging, look somewhere else.

The Tylt Vu(not the Solo one) should've been mentioned, it is the best, and it tablets can sit on it with ease in both portrait and landscape mode.

Absolutely the Tylt Vu is awesome; I have them at home and work, and let my screen stay on all the time. I got some good deals on them through REI, from their occasional sales.

I got some from eBay for $3 each, they take 2+ weeks to be delivered from China, but they work. I can't post a link, but they are item #201253495057

I got a slew of cheapo's from China, but you have to be pretty precise how you set the phone on them. For the price they're pretty great though. I think I paid less that $2 each for mine. I have one on my desk, by my bed, on the stand in the living room. I tried using one in the car but the phone kept slipping off, and the non skid pad I have was too thick to allow charging. I'd like one that doesn't have to be nearly a so precise about phone placement, though. I'd pay for that.

So, the thickness of phone case is a concern as well? Wireless charging won't work if you have a thick case on the phone?

Are using cheap wireless charging pads a concern? I know that using cheap knockoff chargers is not good (cheap chargers destroy your battery), but you would plug in your OEM charger into the wireless pad. So, is it okay to use a cheap wireless charging pad with your OEM charger?
