Sony starts sending out MWC 2012 invitations, hints at new Xperia smartphones

Wow, can you believe that almost a year has passed since the last MWC expo? It feels as if it was yesterday when we flew to Barcelona so that we could get some one-on-one time with the hottest gadgets that the world's most popular companies had in their portfolios. Sony Ericsson was there as well and took the veil off a trio of Android smartphones, namely the Xperia PLAY, neo, and pro.

Now, can you guess what Sony Ericsson has in stock for MWC 2012? More Xperia smartphones, of course! At least that is what becomes apparent after checking out the invitation that the company sent to our mailbox this morning. Here is what it reads:

Find out what's new and what's next! Join us at our Press Conference at Mobile World Congress for the latest news on our Xperia smartphone portfolio and strategy.

However, since the Sony Xperia Ion and Xperia S are already official (after leaking on the web more than once), what the company has in stock for MWC 2012 is a mystery at this time. That being said, we will have to sit tight and wait patiently for another 47 days before we know for sure. In the meantime, feel free to throw a guess, as random it may be, in the comments below.

well, they showed off the Ion and Xperia S...

maybe a couple of Windows phones.

I am pretty sure there is gonna be a the Xperia Play 2. Bigger screen , maybe even quad core, better game pad,

i read an article on phonedog talking about if the xperia play was a fail or dissapointment and Aaron said that "we were hoping for a playstion go with android, we got an android phone with a playstion keypad" and i thought to myself that this kinda makes sense and should've been that way and maybe sony could make the next xperia play a playstion go with android

Xperia Pepper said to be a mid range dual core, and that Xperia phone who looks like the Arc/s but has a bulging buttom, just my obvious guess. . .

In fairness to Sony they have got their act together in the last year or so in the smartphone market,and as so I expect a few nice announcements to add to the Sony xperia s

they unveiled very expensive-looking and elegantly designed phones this CES. so high-end... what's next? mid-range and low-range for ME! :) i love xperia S so much sosososo much but im already saying to myself...."man ur just a 3rd world country student, u cant afford it!" hahaha i am planning to buy the xperia neo but i think i should patiently wait for 47 days more to decide :)
