Sony Xperia XZ officially goes on sale for $699.99

Sony's new Xperia XZ flagship is now officially available to purchase. The device, which went up for pre-order last month, gets an aluminum build and a strong set of internal features. If you're looking to join the ranks of the early adopters, you can snag the XZ on Amazon in either Black or Silver for $699.99.

As a refresher, the Xperia XZ includes a 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC and 3 GB RAM. There's a 23-megapixel main camera flanked by a 13-megapixel shooter for selfies, 32 gigs of expandable storage and a 2900 mAh battery to keep the lights on.

While the Xperia XZ does have its advantages as we outlined in our review, the price tag will be a deal-breaker for many. A number of Sony's competing Snapdragon 820-powered handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 have been around for a while now, and as such, are much cheaper.

Still, devotees and fans of Sony's archetypal design might think differently, and if you'd like to grab the Xperia XZ, please hit the source link below. At the time of writing, stocks seem to be depleting rapidly, with only 6 and 19 units remaining of the Silver and Black variants respectively. As such, move quickly if you don't want to miss out.
