Minor 8MB maintenance update rolls out to the Samsung Infuse 4G
Sizing up at a paltry 8MB, which is a clear indication that it’s not going to be Android 2.3 Gingerbread from the onset, the maintenance update actually resolves one problem that targets mostly business users. In fact, it simply resolves an issue that relates to email syncing with Microsoft Exchange 2003 servers – and that’s all! Needless to say that it seemingly was a prevalent issue with those customers, but it’s still nice nonetheless to see an update roll out specifically for it.
Regardless of that, we’re still certain that handset owners are still drooling for the day when Gingerbread is finally made available, but until then, they'll have to live with Froyo in the meantime.

Not specifically to the Infuse, but I can't wait until Google's ferocity with combating Android's fragmentation finally bears fruit.
We are nearly blessed with their Ice Cream Sandwich, but the OEMs still don't want to push Gingerbread out. This can be very upsetting. Perhaps are just waiting until Ice Cream to update and then they'll push them out quickly. Perhaps they are too much in the mindset of the old kinds of handsets that never got any kind of update in their software.
Please don't return us to those days. We greatly appreciate OEMs that support their products for the life of them, which should be between 1.5 - 2 years. after their initial release, even 1 year of software support would be wonderful if it was actual updates in a timely manner.
My OG Droid has been updated a few times, and I can't expresss how happy I was when I got my Froyo update, aside from the fact that a few apps don't play well with it and tend to open on their own. but anyway.

Before I sold my infuse 4g on eBay I had that issue and it was really irritating!

I really hope this phone gets 2.3 and soon. This phone could be a beast with the new touchwiz.
