iOS 8.1.2 is now available for download
It is time, once again, for an incremental update to iOS 8. Apple still has some bigger issues to work on with iOS, especially related to performance on older devices; but, while that work is (hopefully) continuing, the iOS 8.1.2 update is available for download now to deal with some of the smaller issues on the Apple platform.

Presumably, there are some smaller bug fixes in the update, but we'll have to do some testing to confirm that. The only item listed in the change log for the update is a fix to restore ringtones that you might have purchased from iTunes, and had been removed unexpectedly. That sounds like a fairly low-impact issue that probably didn't have too many people who were affected (and even fewer who would have noticed that anything was missing). But, it's always nice to have a fix for a problem.

It's a small update, and it is available over-the-air right now. But, we do know that there is a major update on the horizon. Apple has already seeded iOS 8.2 to developers, which brings support for WatchKit. The Apple Watch is expected for release in the spring of 2015, so it is likely that iOS 8.2 will be hitting around that same time.

Well, people (and not just a few) have been noticing. That's why this updated was issued.

No, this is an iOS article Mxy. However, I believe Lollipop has lower bugs comparatively

That also correlates with how many phones actually running lollipop update.

So the number of bugs is proportional to the number of users?

The number of bugs is proportional of the number of over all users vs users complaining about it....

I have noticed broadband LTE on VZW is slower with 8.1.2 than it was with 8.1.1. Seems like one step forward and one step backward (sighs). This is why I didn't upgrade my iPad to 7 or 8.

Nothing compared to Android. The whole AOSP is nothing else than a collection of buggy garbage.

Use iTunes on your computer to update the software. It downloads the update onto your computer and then installs it on your phone. When you do it OTA, it downloads and installs onto your phone, and the download is usually big.

Thats pretty large for only a fix for ringtones. I guess allot more has been done. My brothers 5s has a problem with picking up the phone as it freezes. Hope for him and if others have the problem that it is fixed with this update. Seems to me that would be a bigger issue than the ringtones

So weird. On Android ppl complain about not getting updates, yet on iOS, everyone is complaining about getting updates. Haha.
