Yet another Huawei P8 image leaks, reminds us of the iPhone 6

New Huawei P8 image (top), iPhone 6' (bottom)

With less than a month left until Huawei's April 15th event in London, where it is expected to unveil its flagship Huawei P8, related rumors and leaks have intensified. Just yesterday, an image focusing on the bottom area of a supposed P8 prototype showed us what appeared to be a metal frame with chamfered edges. And now, we've spotted another, quite similar photo of the P8's bottom side.

We won't lie, as soon as we saw it, we thought of the iPhone 5s/iPhone 6 due to the very similar layout – speaker grills, screws, and a charging port. Regardless, from the few split images we've come across so far, the Huawei P8 is shaping up to be another, hopefully reasonably thin, design piece worthy of the now eradicated Ascend P line.

Word on the street so far puts the specs of the P8 as follows – a 5.2-inch display with a flagship-standard 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, Huawei's most powerful, octa-core Kirin 930 processor and 3GB of RAM, a possible dual 13MP camera setup, and a 2,600 mAh battery. The device is expected to feature a unibody made out of ceramic, with the aforementioned metal frame hugging the profile and run on Huawei's proprietary Emotion UI, based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

More as we get it!

Isn't the iPhone a China phone? They all have something n common. They are all cheap, until you import them. They are all fragile and cheap. They look cheap, feel cheap. The only thing not cheap is the price. Typical Chinese products.

I don't see what the problem is if a Chinese company copy's another. They are all Chinese products.

China is responsible for a huge number of products, at least in America. I don't know exactly which country you live and so I won't assume, but in the U.S. Chinese and Korean made products tend to last longer and cost less than American made products. Being Chinese doesn't mean it's bad. There's chinese companies that make low quality products and the same for American companies. You're coming off as a bit of a racist.

Why are some big manufacturers "inspired" by the bottom part of the iPhone 6? First Samsung then Huawei.

that design looks nice on metal , machining holes as speaker grills

Apple been doing that since the powerbook days in 2004, still looks quite good 10 years later.

Nah. Power button placements are just common sense.

Power buttons on the side don't make sense, and it's certainly a worse placement than the top.

The Huawei P series "always" (for a lot of people) look like iPhones so stop it. However if you have ideas for a brand new design I think that you should apply for a job at their R&D department.

In the meantime the articles Hauwei P8 has three models.
It consists of P8, P8 Lite or Mini, P8 Max.
I guess P8 Lite(Mini) is a side fingerprint scanner, P8 and P8 Max is to be back fingerprint scanner.

I am one of the many Huawei P series, happy owner! There is no copy of a copy phone category!!! All phones are inspired in some other phone who came before and so on...!!! The one with no sin, please throw the first stone...

At least the speaker holes are different, look at s6, it looks even more similar to the iPhone from the bottom. All things aside, S6 is still a great device, but I am happy with my note 4 ^-^

its rounded and metal with two screws holding a USB port for fortification needs. There is no 3.5mm three and two speakers. I don't see this having anything to do with iPhone 6. Sony kicked off the rounded design. You're just trolling PA. why do you guys always steal the thunder from other phone manufacturers.

Nice, but outta all these copy cat designs, Samsung nailed it the best. Using the iPhone 4, and 6 as its inspiration, made for a great looking device.

Ypu need to look at the speaker grill on the Ativ S. Its round drilled holes. Apple didnt have such prior to this device being released. I am not saying APple used the Ativ S as inspriration. I am saying, between Apple and Samsung, Samsung did it first.

Samsung moved the speaker to the bottom, because customers complained that when it is on the back, it muffles the sound which means you have to have the volume higher. Which is true. So its back on the bottom.

You guys have your face so far up the iPhones butt, that you never see the release of any other phone and how they look or are designed.

Not only does the iPhone 6 mimic the drilled holes, it took on the exact shape and the beveled/rounded edges all the way around. In fact, if you put tape over the homes buttons and the speaker and sensor cutouts at the top, both phones look 100% identical, yet the ATIV S was released in 2012.

The new iPhone basically also nearly shares the Ativ S specs too.

Amazing Samsung is always he copier and Apple is always the copyee. And yes I know that isn't a word, I made it up, just like you saying Samsung copied the iPhone 6.

There is a problem in the pictures .
The number of the grills in Pic1 and Pic2 are not the same .

Yup... Its a copy of iPhone!!!

If there is speaker grill at bottom, its an iPhone copy; if it's at back, its Samsung copy; if at top and bottom both, then its a Sony/Htc copy!!

If they are manufacturing slim and metallic

SERIOUSLY, some people need to press F5 button and refresh their brain because the world outside is too big. THE BASIC DESIGN of a phone or tv or fan will remain same throughout the world.

It's also a cheap move by PHONEARENA by promoting their news article using the word IPHONE AND COPY again and again!!

PA doesn't have too. The ignorant fanbois, say it more than enough times. But they only have room in their tiny brains to remember what an iphone looks like so they can identify what they think is a copy.

You will never here them say how the Phone 6 copies the ATIV S design. Oh and the ATIV S actually has drilled speaker holes that are round. The speaker is just on the back.

They wont say how Apple copied quick toggle, and the notification screen from Android. They wont say how Apple copied widgets. They dont speak about how iOS copies MIUI. It's always the other way around with them.

Apple fanbois are the worse hypocrites on the planet when it comes to tech. Yet even today they think a phone with components from 2012 is more premium than a phone with 2014 components
