Xiaomi to unveil two handsets tomorrow, one with Snapdragon 810
Xiaomi already made it clear that it would introduce a new handset on January 15, by posting teaser images on Facebook and other social networking websites. But it looks like the company will announce not one, but two new devices on that day. The latest teaser image unveiled by Xiaomi reads “___ is better than one,”, and shows two hands, each holding an invisible device. Thus, while we are all expecting Xiaomi to announce the Mi5, it looks like we could also see the Redmi Note 2 being announced tomorrow.

Case in point - a leakster just put an announcement about an eventual Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 debut event in China on January 23, where Xiaomi is said to be present, too. The source claims that the world's fourth largest phone maker will unveil two handsets tomorrow - one with Snapdragon 810, and one with 801, which could be the Mi5 and Redmi Note 2, respectively, tying up well all that we've heard so far about these phones. In any case, there is not much more left to wait before we see what Xiaomi has in store for us, and gauge whether it will continue its relentless march for market share in China and beyond.

Trust me, you're never going to see these watered down phones with decent spec sheets released outside of the Asian Peninsula, they would go bankrupt being litigated into the grave for their blatant mimicking of design and software features.

Xiaomi it's already in plans of selling there phones in Mexico and Brazil, they said that in 2014 they were going to sell in Brazil and Mexico but they couldn't, so in this year they will, I live in Mexico so when it arrives I'll be happy and it will be pretty cheap to import it from Mexico to USA because 1 dollar= 15 Mexican pesos and the xiaomi MI4 will cost 8000-10000 Mexican pesos

They will have problems as stated with litigation galore. Samsung, HTC, LG and Sony ( Not to mention Apple) will file with ITC that these are blatant violations of design and feature that are patented(sales ban). Next they will have to pay a licencing fee to Google to access any of the Google apps and the play store. Without the Chinese government home turf advantage the price on these devices will shoot up. Yes, they can be smuggle in the black market and find their way to potential customers but at a cost. If they have no support structure here, because they are ban from doing business, how will potential customers get serviced?

Couldn't have said it better. I don't know why PA keeps ranting and raving about this firm like it has the potential to be anything special outside of Asia. Sure, they give companies like Samsung and Apple a challenge in developing regions like India and China, but why does that matter to us?

Personally spec bumping has seized to amaze me. I want to see some extra functionality/usefulness or else upgrading to just a faster processor seems pointless. A UI overhaul might do the trick....

And Xperia Z4 will murder those crappy MiToys. None of Chinese manufactures are never gonna be able to beat SONY and APPLE, so just give it up, MiBoys!

Oh really? So explain to me why Xiaomi it's the 4 most largest smartphone company in the world and Sony it's thinking to sell there phone division because the don't sell well? The only division were Sony it's making a profit it's from the PS4(videogames)...

Exactly why they should put more money into RND. To be fair the recent "leaked" pics of the Mi5 does not look to be a clone of anything. But the UI.. let's just say that needs a redesign in order to sell in The States.
