World Record for fastest texting gets broken after just one day
Easy come, easy go. It was just yesterday when we reported that Melissa Thompson of the U.K. banged out the phrase, "the razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality, they seldom attack a human" in 25.94 seconds to become the Guinness World Record holder for fastest texting. Ms. Thompson used a Swype keyboard that was pre-installed on her Samsung Galaxy S.

Records are made to be broken and this one lasted all of 1 day. A video shows a gentleman by the name of Brian Sweet who used the keyboard on his Apple iPhone 4 to tap out the same phrase as Ms. Thompson did. Sweet says his time was a solid 4 seconds faster than the record set yesterday. But we would suggest that Mr. Sweet not rest on his laurals. With plenty of practice, someone else could be holding the record as soon as tomorrow.
