Windows Phone 8.1 version of HTC One to launch via Verizon on August 21st?
Earlier today, we told you that the version of HTC's flagship phone for Windows would be named the "One (M8) for Windows." And while we told you that the phone is expected to see the light of day before September, we now have some more information. According to sources with knowledge of what Microsoft is planning, Microsoft Stores is expected to launch the phone on August 21st.

Microsoft Stores is also said to be taking possession of some accessories for the phone, such as the Dot View case that will work after the GDR1 update to Windows Phone 8.1 is pushed out. Thus far, it would appear that the phone will be limited to hosting the Verizon logo on the back. The full retail price of the handset will be $610, according to those tipsters reportedly in the know. That would most likely lead to a price of $199.99 with a signed two-year pact.

The "One (M8) for Windows" is supposedly coming in silver, and hopefully we will soon get an eyeball on the device so we can see if it can be the twin for the HTC One (M8).

If it's $199 on contact, all I can say is good luck selling it. Lumia 1520 is $99 and the iPhone, the world'is best selling phone is also priced at $199. Bad move HTC and Verizon.

I'm still struck by how good the hardware design of the M8's metal case is. It should be shorter top to bottom, but the phone really has a nice shape that fits easily in the hand. If only HTC would fix the M8's camera. Smh.

Why isn't WP releasing their new phones other than the 1520 on AT&T anymore first the Icon now the W8 is gonna be exclusive to Verizon my upgrade is in Verizon and unless Sony, HTC, Nokia, Samsung, etc release a good windows phone for AT&T by then I'll be moving to iOS

And now, HTC will go out of business... WP has no apps, it's hard to use, it does NOTHING, and it's sort of sad because the One's a great phone.

I really love my M8( Android), it works quite smoothly. Just don't like its metal case, too hard to hold. So I buy one customize plastic case on the shop : casecoco.com/personalized-cases-for-others/htc-one-m8-casecoco-cases-165. Now it looks better.
