We haven't seen lines like the ones for the OnePlus 5 since the iPhone

The OnePlus 5 is finally official and it's got a lot of people excited.
How do we know? Simple: just look at the line of people waiting to buy the new OnePlus 5 in New York at the company's special Pop-up event. The lines stretches down the whole block and you can see everyone from regular folks to YouTubers and the rest.
And quite honestly, we haven't seen such long lines for a phone in quite some time. Even the iPhone these days gets a slightly more muted reaction.
So yes, while we can be critical about the OnePlus 5's iPhone-esque design and other things, one has to admit that the OnePlus 5 is one heck of a phone for its $480 price. It's got a flagship grade Snapdragon 835 system chip, 8 gigs of RAM, the most we've seen on a phone, plentiful storage and a clean and fast-running OxygenOS. "Thats what u get when your product looks like a cheaper version of the most popularly demanded product in the world." Xiaomi phones in India have garnered even longer line-ups than the OnePlus 5. This is mostly due to the flagship-grade specs at mid-range prices, and not the iPhone design language. If Samsung had released the Galaxy S8 for $480, then just imagine how the line up would be!

I was thinking the same thing but with a step further. Those making the lines are iphone users going to buy an Android device that looks like an iphone so their friend won't give them hell for kicking the iphone to the curb.... lol

Where else are they supposed to put the cameras though. If it would have been in the middle. People would say it looked like the G6. I think its the camera and the aluminum back that make it look like an iPhone. It just looks like a plain rectangle. I think were at a point. Where we ran out of ideas to make rectangles look different.
