Verizon to intensify its trade-in program, launching the
The official launch of the Verizon iPhone 4 is looming closer and closer, and the largest US carrier has decided to promote its trade-in program "more actively", while, at the same time, it's set to offer a new one called "Special Upgrade Offer".

As we told you back in October, this trade-in program allows you to sell your existing smartphone(s) to Verizon, gather some cash in the form of a Verizon gift card and buy a new Big Red handset.

You can also trade handsets from other carriers, and, interestingly, for the AT&T Apple iPhone 4 16GB, you will receive a $212.00 credit, while for the HTC Surround you'll get only $92 - it's up to you to decide whether it's worth it or not.

The largest US carrier is also thinking about these customers who decided to purchase a Verizon handset in the last few months, but now want to swap it for the CDMA iPhone 4. This program is called "Special Upgrade Offer", but be warned that using it is not a straightforward process at all, and has one important prerequisite - you are eligible if you have purchased and activated a Big Red phone between November 26, 2010 and January 10, 2011.

If you have done that and want to use the program, the first step is to place an order for the Verizon iPhone 4 until the end of February, and pay the full retail price. After that, you must go to and submit your debit card request. Take into account this must happen within 30 days of activating your iPhone.

Once you have finished with that, Verizon will send a prepaid mailer to collect your phone and you'll receive $200 for a smartphone or $75 for a feature/certified pre-owned phone. Not that you'll get this money instantly - Verizon will send you a Visa debit card within 4 to 6 weeks.

And now the important question - are you getting the Verizon iPhone - either through one of these programs, or simply by going to one of the carrier's stores?

HUH?!?! Get out of the Fascinate? November? What are talking about. the iPhone doesn't come out till Febuary 10th. You can buy a Fascinate for $99.00 with "no" rebates at Best Buy/Best Buy Mobile, in Black or White. In 6-10 months a 4g iPhone so there you have it!

is fucking scam verizon so my droid x if sale they guive me only 95 dollars out of the store 250 see the diference

The Droid X was $199. They're giving you almost exactly half of what you paid for the phone (minus tax and whatever else you may have bought to jack the price up to $250). For your USED phone. Ever trade in a car? I know, I know, I can already hear it: "but my phone is only __ months old!" Months are years in the smartphone world. The Droid X will likely be a retired device within the next 2 months. You're getting $95 back for a phone that will soon no longer be sold.

lol. anyone ever hear of CRAIGSLIST. ? That droidX will go for 150-300. Hell i sold a mytouch slide a month ago for 225. Only a dillhole would sell their phone back to verizon or any other carrier. What are they going to do with it? Either make them warranty phones or have someone resell them on ebay n craigslist.

If anyone trades anything in to Verizon they are retarded! You can sell any phone on ebay for a lot more then what Verizon will give you. A used Iphone 4 is selling for over $450 on ebay! If you have one I will buy it from you for $250 and then sell it and make $200 for your stupidity. C'mon people do your homework! This is what's wrong with America just a bunch of stupid uninformed consumers.

I think Verizon is planning to buy all the ATT iPhones in order to put all of them in giant crates and dump them on the ATT Headquarters.
