Verizon clearing first gen iPad inventories; prices start at $299
If you have been looking for a good bargain on the first generation of the Apple iPad, then Verizon might have just the deal that you have been searching for. Reportedly, Big Red is clearing its inventories from all first generation Wi-Fi-only iPads and is offering them at killer prices – starting as low as $299 for a 16-gig entry model.

Be aware that the discount is not available online and is probably not going to be. Privately owned Verizon stores do not seem to be participating either, getting an iPad on the cheap will require going to one of the carrier's own retail stores. If you are interested in the deal, we recommend you to spare no time as supplies are probably already running out.

I said getting a tablet wasn't something that was on my radar for now b/c i own a laptop...but for a 32GB at the price i got for (hell of a lot cheaper than what it retailed for at launch) i went ahead and got the first gen. Yea it doesn't have the front facing cam or dual core thinness but hey it does what i need it to do. For virtually the price of a smartphone i got a tablet & it wasn't a Galaxy tab (lol). It was a Godfather deal...an offer i couldn't refuse.
