Verizon Apple iPhone 4 orders are starting to ship
Granted it has been less than a day since the green lights were given to Verizon’s pre-order process for the Apple iPhone 4, some are already starting to receive notifications saying that their orders have been shipped.

One of our tipsters managed to pass on the information, but aside from being told that their order has been shipped, there are no additional pieces of information surrounding a concrete delivery date. Sure there some customers out there that can dream about seeing their shiny new toy arrive earlier than the expected date of February 10th, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll happen. Then again, we’ve seen some people who pre-ordered the AT&T iPhone 4 get their units earlier than the actual release date - so you never know what can transpire this time around.

In any event, once they receive tracking information, we’ll get a better gauge as to whether or not they’ll be showing off their new smartphone earlier than others.

Thanks Ronald!

no adobe flash, no expandable memory, cant replace the battery yourself, wont be 4g, that damn 32 pin charger port that dont match non of the 5 micro usb car and house and usb cables that I already have. almost all of the good apps have a pricetag, but it has facetime and its pretty, nice pretty phone there guys looks good with your skinny jeans (beer commercial lmao)

as opposed to

adode flash (i just streamed denzel movie "unstoppable" on my droid x and no i didnt pay for it just streamed it from zshare) expandable memory up to 32gb so far and internal memory, replacable battery (just incase you want to have a extra battery charged), now having front facing cameras, 8mp camera, tons of good free apps, can return an app, no syncing required just log back into google if you get a different android device and retreive all of your numbers and paid apps, some apps can be saved to your memory card ,NEW (as of today)google marketplace online where you can purchase apps and free apps and they start downloading to your phone right then without connecting anything. fast fast fast, text to speech, the best input method since the qwerty keyboard SWYPE, plenty of flavors and style to choose from not just one that keeps getting changed every 1 year or so. Fully customizable

now how is apple better??? how

Nice comment overall. I agree that Android is overal better, and I'm waiting for the Thunderbolt.

To be fair, doesn't the iPhone has better battery life? On my HTC Diamond, my battery life sucks, where my iPhone friends don't have that problem. In addition, the iPhone screen is much nicer than any android phone, to be fair.

For Android, I would add that customizable home screens is very nice. I like to be able to see my schedule when I turn on my device.

It depends on the phone. My Droid 2 is running stock firmware, with brightness permanently set to 75%, and I've had it last 80 hours on one charge with some light use and even then the battery still had 15% left before I decided to charge it. My brother's iPhone can last one day longer than mine but he still plugs it in every night. Seems like what pretty much all iphone users do anyways, so if your droid can last one day then that's all it really needs.

If you want flash get the skyfire browser. Who needs expandable memory when you have 32 gb internal. Personally I have never pulled my memory card out of my phone other than to see the size. And with storing pictures on a memory card the load time for videos, music, and even pictures takes longer. I have also never wasted money on a second battery for my droid and only had to remove it when my phone freezes which is a couple times a day. Your droid x isn't 4g either. The 30 pin proprietary connector is used for all ipods, ipads, and iphones. Just about everyone has an ipod. Currently my phone is the only device I or my family owns that uses it, where my multiple ipods and my ipad already use the connector. The iPhone's build quality is better than any droid out. More apps for the iphone do cost money but then again they actually work good opposed to my droid which cant run simple apps because they skip and lag from ads or just dont run right because they're optimized for a different type of droid.

Check out phonearena's comparison between the iphone camara and droid x. The iphone's 5 mp camara was better than the droid x's 8 mp camara. Specs arent everything.

Your iphone is only 32 GB if you pay the extra $100. I can make my phone have 40GB for only $50. And no, not everyone has an iPod. None of my friends do, but they all have micro-usb. Even though some of them don't have Android phones they all have bluetooth earpieces which DO use the micro-usb plugs.

I find it hard to believe that your droid crashes multiple times a day. You either install the most horrifying junk on your phone or you are straight up lying. Regardless you sound like an Applefanboi who's butthurt over the fact that not everyone worships Steve Jobs.

I have a Droid X myself, so i'm not an Apple Fanboy, but I think you're selling the iPhone very short. The beauty of the Apple products is that they offer something Droids and Blackberries don't and that's pure quality and the largest media support ever. The iTunes library contains music and movies that dwarfs the likes of rhapsody or amazon mp3. Not to mention that, the iPhone/Pod/Pad can stream Netflix. Something that the Androids don't have yet.
Even when you buy DVD's they come with an option of a digital copy that 9 times out of 10 you get from the iTunes store. Sure you can rip the DVD and convert it into an mp4 format, but not everyone knows how to do so.

my gosh, stop combining many different phones into one android super phone! Not all of them have front cameras, 8mg pixel cameras, 4G, or even removeable memory.

I agree 100% with didyoutouchyourself. When I had a phone with expandable memory, it always stayed in the phone. It's also recommended that it stays in the phone so you won't break that tiny micro card. And how many people ever buy removeable batteries? We should have a poll, just for Android users. I'm pretty positive that not many people do. Isn't much easier to carry a charger? You won't have to charge two separate batteries. And then buying another removeable battery for every new phone you get? Well that sucks doesn't it? And if you have an iPhone and really want something to charge your phone, just buy one of those cases with a built in battery.

And yes, it's very sad that I'll never be able to pimp out my homescreen, but I think I'll survive. And yes again, the iPhone is very pretty. Very pretty indeed. Why is that bad again? Sometimes I hold my iPhone in my hands and I'm like "Damn! what a sexy phone" lol.

The thing about the ip is you have no choice, well, very few. Hm, should I get the 16 or 32 gb, done. If a Droid user or BB or ? want to buy another battery they have that choice. I travel (fly) coast to coast, I bought a beefy battery (1750 mAh) for my Droid Incredible that doesn't require a new back, I keep the stock batt for a backup, quite handy to have the option. My home dock charges the extra batt simultaneously. How's the sex appeal for the ip with that ugly battery case attached to it? I see many ip users plugged in like anyone else. My buddy constantly is charging his ip because he uses it 'constantly', just like anything you use constantly. I've made flight connections with low batts with no time to sit by the outlet, pop in the extra batt for the BB or Droid and I keep on going. If the batt is too low on an ip ( idk at what %) and you plug it in, you have to wait to use it, well that sucks doesn't it?

Load time slow on a card for media? Nope, even on the Bold it's pretty quick. Anyway, again, if I want to for any reason, I can take out the card and pop in a different one, choice. Yea, I bet you say that about your ip, until you turn it on :) When I look at my Incredible I also say, "Damn! What a sexy phone". When I look at my awesome live wallpaper (right now I have an aquarium that the ladies love), I say, "Damn, nice to have options". cheers...

Oh dang! You have an aquarium on your phone's screen! Now that's sexy! Guess it's time for me to switch to Android.

Well, like I said earlier, we should have a poll. If switching batteries and wallpapers are so important to you, then you absolutely made the right choice. But for the vast majority that don't care too much about moving fishes, I think we'll be fine. adios....

Mophie juice pack air plus

It's a battery case that more than doubles the life of the iPhone 4. And it's profile is so slim that even with the case the phone is still slimmer than almost anysmartphone out there. Best part? It looks damn good.
If someone wants to carry an extra battery, cool. iPhone users can too. And to use it they don't have to open up the phone. They just plug it right in.

So the whole battery thing can be out to rest.

Hmm seems like someones a little bias. But think you for pointing out all of the things we already know about the iPhones and Droids. I felt like you were making a commercial for DROID after reading your posting. Have fun using the "TASK KILLER APP" to save your battery life because the OOOOO soooo GREAT DROID cant manage to last more than six hours. I actually understand why you keep so many micro usb chargers now!!!!

Hehe, for the record, I don't have any "TASK KILLER APP" on my Incredible, it lasts me all day :)

@EN- Yea, actually there's quite a majority that welcomes customizations and choices. I look at the ip4 and it does have a nice design (a little flat though) but like I said, until you turn it on it all looks the same, boring.

@clevername- yes, you have 'no choice' but to resort to an 'external' battery, that 'still' makes the ip4 look "damn good", uh huh...In my post I was simply making a point about the 'option' to change out my batt for an extended version, which doesn't change my Incredible's dimension one iota! You cannot do that, so yes, the battery thing can be put to rest.

From what I've been told, the orders are processed with a free overnight shipping code. When you receive the phone, you should just have to call in to the ivr to accept the contract and activate the phone.

Is everyone aware of what you have to do for voicemail and contacts?

Voicemail: will not transfer to iPhone. It comes with apple's visual voicemail and will delete you old voicemail service and messages. You can save them to an sd card and put them on your computer or use a service like you mail on the old phone to save them but as soon as you activate the iPhone, voicemail is deleted.

Contacts: download backup assistant on the old phone. When you activate the iPhone, in the app store there is an app for verizon contact transfer

I also got the message that my employee discount did not apply, but I verified with my company's verizon representative that the discount will be applied. I suspect the preorder just didn't mess with the discount.
