This summer, T-Mobile subscribers get free unlimited 4G data in Europe

Earlier today, T-Mobile announced that its subscribers will get free unlimited 4G data roaming in Europe in the months of July and August. Furthermore, the Magenta carrier also said that everyone in the US, not just T-Mobile customers, will get one hour of free Gogo Wi-Fi this upcoming weekend.

Between the 1st of July and the 31st of August, all T-Mobile subscribers on a Simple Choice plan will get free unlimited 4G data in all of Europe with the exception of Andorra. Even if you're not on one of T-Mobile's unlimited plans, you'll get access to unlimited data in Europe.

Previously, T-Mobile subscribers had access to free unlimited data in more than 140 countries, but this data is delivered at notably slower 2G speeds. Last summer, T-Mobile started offering free 4G roaming in Mexico and Canada, but in the limits of the plan's data cap.

Placing a call from Europe will cost you 20 cents per minute, and you'll also get free unlimited texting. These are the same rates as in every other country where T-Mobile offers free roaming.

For the second promotion that T-Mobile announced earlier today, you don't need to go on a trip to Europe. In fact, you don't even need to be a T-Mobile subscriber. From June 24th to June 26th, everyone flying a domestic flight with onboard Gogo Wi-Fi service will get one hour of free Wi-Fi on their phone, even Verizon and AT&T subscribers.

T-Mobile apparently wants everyone to get a taste of what it means to be a Simple Choice subscriber; all of T-Mobile's postpaid customers get one hour of free Wi-Fi on Gogo flights as well as unlimited messaging and texting.

T-Mobile's new promotions are just the latest in a series of aggressive moves designed to grow its subscriber base. A few weeks ago, T-Mobile announced that customers will be getting a share in the company and kickstarted a weekly giveaway that included partners such as Domino's, Lyft, Vudu, and Wendy's.
