The Rock stars with Siri in new iTunes movie that launches July 24th (UPDATE)

In his career as a movie star, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson never worked with a co-star as unique as the one he acts with in a new iTunes movie that debuts tomorrow, July 24th. The film is called The Rock x Siri, and yes that is Apple's voice activated personal assistant sharing top billing with one of the world's biggest movie stars. Johnson disseminated a tweet earlier today in which he called the picture the "biggest, coolest, sexiest, funnest (is that a word?) movie ever."

UPDATE: The movie is now live on iTunes. Check out a clip from the movie by clicking on the video at the top of the story.

This year has become the year of the personal assistant as Amazon's Alexa has come out of obscurity to become one of the big players in the game along with Google Assistant and Cortana. One of the reasons for this is the unexpected surge in smart speaker sales. The product, which combines a speaker with a personal assistant, has become the new must-have tech item for the home. Besides the Amazon Echo, which was the first in the category and contains Alexa, other smart speakers include the Google Home (with Google Assistant). Expected later this year is the Microsoft Invoke (with Cortana) and the Apple HomePod (which includes Siri).

Based on the poster for the movie, The Rock x Siri looks to be an action picture that will include car chases, airplane disasters, alien beings (androids, perhaps?), and more. Siri has really lucked out this time. You can't make your movie debut with a co-star any bigger or more well-known than The Rock. Not that Siri isn't world-famous either, in her own way. While we doubt that Johnson and Siri will have an off-screen romance, there is talk that he has been pressing her button.

Damn he must be hurting for work to do a stupid thing like this. And yes, I would say that no matter witch one.

Considering he made $64.5M in 2016, the most of any actor in Hollywood, I'm going to go out on a limb & say you're wrong.

He's not hurting for work but he does make that much money because he seems to take on every single movie role there is. I like some of his movies, but he has been starring in a lot of crap movies (like this one is probably too).

Nothing wrong with that as far as I'm concerned. If he's making money & taking care of his business, good for him I say.

It's the smart thing to do usually, action actors only are popular for so long.

Apple makes awesome products that many people love, Apple is usually, USUALLY the gold standard that every company (especially Samsung) aspires to emulate but OMG this movie has got to be a bad April Fools joke, please. First that stupid Frankenstein-ish Christmas ad, then the even stupider Planet of the Apps, now this! Apple please stop you're embarrassing yourselves! :(

Between this and Trump's tenure as President, I am now convinced we are all in some bizarre computer simulation headed for doomsday. Can s**t get any worse?

If enough social reject liberals get together and elect another incompetent President, yeah it could get worse.

I think you need to reassess your life if you find Obama more incompetent than the current dips**t In chief. Can't wait till they send his ass to prison for money laundering.

Thought it was "collusion" with Russia that was going to put him away? It's "can't wait TILL they". Aren't y'all supposed to be the educated ones? Yes, Obama was an incompetent empty suit, pandering to the social rejects of the left. Just remember that Americans voted for Republicans to have majority of: Senate, House, State Houses, Governorships, and will pick Supreme Court. Yet there's still the hardheaded few who still believe Obama did a good job. If he did such a great job, a Democrat should have been a shoe in for the next POTUS. Unless you are silly enough to believe the fake news "angry white people" (the same whites who voted Obama, twice!) voted Trump in. BTW, you saying "find Obama more incompetent than" implies that you believe Obama was incompetent, lol! These people have voting rights, folks! Americans voted NO to the false song of globalism and degenerate "progressive" laws. Liberalism and the left is on it's death bed. This past election just put the first nail in the coffin.

You sound woefully ignorant, so I'll leave you this tidbit: If Republicans are doing such a great job running anything, how come they can't pass ANY major legislation with a majority in both the House and Senate? How come our current President LOST the election by over 3 million votes if the American people wanted this s**t show? How come his approval rating is the lowest IN AMERICAN HISTORY AT THIS STAGE OF HIS PRESIDENCY? Lastly, you do realize he is being investigated on two separate fronts, right? The NY State Department has an investigation out on Trump and most of his cabinet (working alongside Mueller's Federal investigation). Even if he did "get off" for Federal crimes, state crimes cannot be pardoned. So yes, he's going to jail either way :). "This past election just put the first nail in the coffin." Something tells me next year's midterms aren't going to turn out in your favor (unless the Russians help... again).

Keep holding onto those Liberal circlejerk conspiracy theories, lol. I love how you're all "he's going to jail aaaaannnnyyy day now". Whatever fantasies you have to keep to get through the next 7 years, eh?

Side Note: FYI, you make a terrible grammar Nazi dude. You literally corrected something that was already proper, and had the nerve to be smug about it. Classic Trump supporter... condescending and out of touch with reality.

Don't see the point of this movie. A movie ad for Siri... Apple sure has the jack to splash for this movie.
