T-Mobile myTouch 3G & G1 shows off the joys of Android 2.1

Theoriginal device to set Android's ball rolling may be fading away everso slowly in the wake of these high-end offerings that seeminglytakes precedance over a lot of news surrounding Android. Fortunatelyfor both T-Mobile G1 and myTouch 3G owners, they can get themselves asample of the joys that come along with Android 2.1 thanks to thebeta CyanogenMod ROM. It has been in the testing and fine tuning stagesfor the better portion of the last several weeks, but the CyanogenModteam is about close as it gets to releasing version CM 5.0.7 Ds oftheir latest beta ROM. The video clearly shows how Android 2.1 isrunning on the T-Mobile G1, but there are still problems that wouldrequire some modifications to run properly. No worries for theT-Mobile myTouch 3G as the ROM was able to install and run withoutany hitches. Even though there are some G1 handsets sitting aroundand collecting dust, this would be the perfect opportunity to whip itout and shed some life back into it. Interestingly enough, theremight be something else better coming down the road as we wait andsee what Google reveals at I/O held on May 19th to 20th.
