Surprise: OnePlus launches a Sandstone iPhone case (for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s)

OnePlus today surprised us by announcing an accessory made for Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. More exactly, we're talking about a protective case that can already be bought from OnePlus' website, costing $19.99 (or €19.99 in Europe). By launching this product, OnePlus is, once again, trying to show us that it wants to be more than just an Android vendor.

Called OnePlus Sandstone Case, the new accessory is made out of polycarbonate, and should provide the same tactile feel that a OnePlus 2 smartphone provides. OnePlus says that you could get this case for you, if you have an iPhone 6 or 6s, or as a gift for a friend who owns an iPhone (mind you, the case isn't compatible with the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus).

Just like any other case out there, the OnePlus Sandstone Case will make your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s thicker and heavier, as the accessory measures 138.7 x 70.2 x 10.5 mm and weighs 20 grams.

For a limited time (during the holiday season), OnePlus is offering its Sandstone iPhone case in a box that includes a OnePlus X invite, and even the chance to receive a OnePlus X for free. So, what do you say, would you OnePlusify your iPhone with this case?

Pretty brilliant if you think about it. Be the good guy Greg. Show off by using a sandstone case for premium feel.

I love that they don't have the cut out to show the Apple logo and instead they have a OnePlus logo on the back so they're advertising their own brand. It's a genius move honestly.

Very smart move from the most exclusive Android phone manufacturer to the most prestigious smartphone manufacturer. Great coupling! :)

No one will buy it. You can't show off that apple in the middle, which is the main reason people buy iPhones anyway.

I was wondering why no one has mentioned this yet. Most cases aim for coverage, while iPhone accessories aim to expose that darn fruit logo. This is why you know that having an iPhone is more a fashion statement than anything else...

No, you're wrong.. No one will buy because it's stupid. It would make more sense if it was a battery pack or something with a feature - but there are much nicer cases for a lot cheaper that hide Apple logo if you must. But I can actually see android manufacturers becoming Apple accessory makers - that's where real money is at. Samsung already makes more money making Apple designed parts than making their own phones - this is inevitable.

Another OEM should take note of this instead of suing someone for making another hamburger.

The ad suggests android peeps buy this for isheeps as stocking stuffers. If I had a straight out isheep coworker and I got them as my secret Santa I am totally buying them a sheep case, Samsung case, or this. Lol Besides, most people don't look at case brands and just buy based on price and looks. And it really does make sense. Google and Microsoft make money with iPhone apps. Might as well get in on the iPhone accessory market.

Typical move by the droidtard crowd. A cheap ripoff of the Bear Motion case with advertising on it. At best they should give this piece of advertising garbage away for free. The problem is only a droidtard would use it, and as we know they want everything for free. So $20 is a deal breaker and will cause the droidtards to whine endlessly.

Yep, every Android fan would use an iPhone case, and then whine about the price. Genius.

Dude. I want to buy one of these for someone but I only know two people with an iPhone 6, they're married and love their Otter box cases. So I actually have zero people I can give this too.... You can tell my social group relies heavily on my opinion in phones being that everyone I know has either a Nexus (5,6,6P) or a Moto(X,G)....

There is no cut out for the holy Apple logo! It will sell less.

I buy cases with no logos. If I'm gonna pay for it - do use me to advertise. I hate how Samsung and every android manufacturer plasters their logos in front, back, and not to mention damn carrier logos printed and displayed when you power up the phone. Even Samsung EarPods have Samsung logo on it. Apple has the least logos on their device. The Apple Watch has a tiny one on the metal ring where no one can see. I'm not an advertizemnt billboard - android manufacturers better get a clue.

Agreed... My Samsung has a logo on front and back, plus logo on battery, and AT&T logo on back, too. At least it's not like HTC with the black stripe for the logo. Moto has just the batwing M on the back, that's it.

This case is so wrong. It's the same as having any other OEM logo on the back of IPhone. Plain moronic idea that came to life.
