Sony Xperia S now has access to PlayStation store
During this year's CES in Las Vegas, many smartphone fans became smitten with the Sony Xperia S. With that unique transparent strip about 10% up from the bottom of the phone, Sony has designed a unique handset that is the manufacturer's flagship model. When the phone was launched overseas, Sony did not have time to complete PlayStation support for the model, so those who purchased the Sony Xperia S up to now have had to live with a placeholder link instead of the real live PlayStation Store. But, as you might have guessed from the tone of this piece, things have now changed.

Starting on Tuesday, those who clicked on the app for the PS Store were taken to a web page where the storefront and the PS Pocket app can be downloaded onto the Sony Xperia S. Before you download the two apps, you will need to enable your device to install non-Market apps in Settings > Applications. Go to the app tray on the device and click on "Let's start PS Store" You will then be able to download both apps which will let you buy and play PlayStation games on the unit. Right now there are about a dozen games available although some are just for the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY. For you to be able to access Sony's gaming catalog, you will need to open a need a PlayStation Network or Sony Entertainment Network account.

Sony plans on making all of its 2012 releases PlayStation Certified including the just announced Sony Xperia sola.
