Samsung store caught fire ahead of the Galaxy S8 announcement

Samsung store caught fire ahead of the Galaxy S8 announcement
Samsung is having the worst of luck when it comes to fires. After the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, a Samsung battery plant went up in flames, and now a Samsung store in Singapore suffered the same fate. The fire caused neighboring shops in the mall to close temporarily for safety and cleaning.

Samsung confirmed the unfortunate turn of events, issuing a statement on the incident.

“We were alerted to a fire at the Samsung Experience Store at AMK Hub in the early hours of Tuesday morning before store opening hours,” the statement said.

“The fire was extinguished by water sprinklers in the store an no one was injured during the incident. We are currently assessing the property damage and working closely with the authorities to determine the cause of the fire.”

This incident could have gone unnoticed if it wasn't for Samsung's extremely bad luck in the past few months. However, it also comes at a very unfortunate time for the South Korean manufacturer. Its brand new flagship duo, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, is getting announced tomorrow and the last thing anyone needs is another device that goes up in flames.

Don't tell me it's the Galaxy S8/+ exploding now. Hope it's because of a totally different cause.

Sometimes, they might just have one or two for demo. "Have you seen the Galaxy S8 yet? It was launched yesterday...we can give you a first hand experience", type of thing.

Not available for sales and not in the back stock room at their local primo stores are not the same thing. Stock regularly comes in a week+ early. Where do you think we get so many leaks from in the days before a release? Couldn't have happened at a worse time. Ironically funny and bad at the same time.

Even if the Galaxy S8 wasn't there leave it to sites like iPA to jump to the conclusion that it was a Samsung device

Sorry for posting comment way off topic! But I need to do schoolwork and I need help from people from different countries! So if someone could be helpful and answer these questions, I'd be very thankful. It won't take long! 1. Where are you from? 2. What’s typical citizen from your country like? (Stereotypes) 3. Something funny about your culture? 4. Have you any stereotypes about Finland? (That’s where I’m from) 5. Have you any got any prejudices about citizens of certain countries? If so, could you tell little bit about those. Thank you whoever answers these! Thank you SOOO much!

They are testing the fire suppression systems in their stores ahead of the S8 launch. Ahhh man that was cruel. Sorry Richar.. I mean Techie.

Zylam, You don't have to excite flamewars by irrelevantly mentioning someone else in your (mockery) comment, unless you're deliberately being a dick here.

They don't even know what the cause of the fire is but, PA makes sure they say, "and the last thing anyone needs is another device that goes up in flames"
