Samsung "Pride" to be the first smartphone to run Tizen 3.0 OS

Samsung might have finished working on Tizen 3.0, so it would make sense to start launching new devices powered by the new operating system. The first smartphone to ship with Tizen 3.0 OS right out of the box is known internally as Samsung “Pride.”

New reports claim Samsung plans to launch the Tizen 3.0 smartphone in the same markets where the Samsung Z2 is sold. There are no details about its specs, but we do know it goes by the model number SM-Z250F.

Source suggest that Samsung plans to market Pride's voice control functionality rather than the phone's hardware. Since the new Tizen 3.0 OS comes with support for such features, it makes sense for Samsung to advertise those features that makes its products stand out.

It's unclear when exactly the smartphone will be unveiled, but it will be initially introduced in countries like India, Bangladesh and Nigeria. Europeans will probably be able to buy Samsung's Tizen 3.0 smartphone in Russia only.

We doubt Samsung will bring any Tizen smartphones in the United States any time soon since these devices are aimed at emerging markets.

Agree. It will take a time. I understand Samsung, though. Starting from down, to grow up the app-store first. It's growing faster now. BTW Tizen surpassed WP and is the third most popular phone OS. And that 's with only one phone model. WOW All the owner reviews say : better, faster, lighter and much more battery saving......than Android.

I'm just waiting for Tizen phone with more "proper" specs... I know it's a lightweight OS that can run smoothly even with low-end specs, but I want a nice camera, better design, and better buld quality.. at least make it as great as galaxy C or A series :D and I'll try it,,

Yes it's very much a thing. In smartwatches of course. Smartphones, not so much.

Well, the third most popular phone OS, surpassing WP. And that's with only one phone model, so far.

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but, has anyone here ever tried a Tizen powered PHONE before? I've had a Gear smartwatch with it, never a phone, so I'm curious about it's ins and outs.

I have two gear watch. I still think Tizen is no where near WP in term of App availability and software support. How many software update did Samsung give to their two Tizen smart phones. At least Microsoft give their WP10 mobile firmware update every other month. I like Samsung but i also like to stick with facts.

I have purchased Z1 for fun and it is very light and smooth. I particularly enjoy the battery efficiency. Only down side is the number of apps available. Popular apps are there so if you are only for calls and web browsing with whatsapp or fb, not a bad choice as a second driver or third considering the low price and rarity.

Tizen is just sailfish OS. If both platforms get premium devices they'll gain traction
