Official WM6.1 update for HTC TyTN II is now available
In the past week, there was a leak of the WM6.1 ROM for the TyTN II and the update is now officially available. It adds the typical for this version of Windows Mobile features, including an improved Internet Explorer, threaded messaging, simplified Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection setup, task manager and support for the Microsoft's System Center Mobile Device Manager. More detailed information is available in our Windows Mobile 6.1 hands-on experience. It is also claimed that this update brings an improved display and overall device performance.

The bad news is that this update is only for HTC branded devices, so carrier ones will have to wait. The ROM is available for download on the HTC website, but requires registration to its e-Club.

Ignorance must be bliss, #2. Anyway. Does anyone know if it will work with an HTC 6800 (The Mogul)?

no, it probably won't... HTC has a separate update for the mogul that is supposed to be out sometime within the next 2 months

I want to try it, but the idea of frying my device is too great. I wish someone has bigger cajones than me and tries it and lets us know.

Anyone know when an official 6.1 release will be available for the XV6900 Touch for Verizon? I heard that it will update it to Rev A.
