New ad for Apple iPhone 5 focuses on the camera

New ad for Apple iPhone 5 focuses on the camera
Apple does know that the iPhone is a phone and not a camera, right? In the latest ad for the Apple iPhone 5 that is beginning to hit the television airwaves, we see the handset used as a camera over and over and over again. In fact, if we were the type that loves to make puns, we would say that this new commercial, (ahem) focuses on the handset's 8MP camera.

There is nothing spoken throughout most of the ad until the very end, and the actual construction of the sentence makes us wonder if the guys at Cupertino know exactly what the Apple iPhone is. After 54 seconds of just hearing background music, the voice over announcer says, "Every day, more photos are taken with the iPhone than any other camera." See where we italicized the sentence? Technically, Apple is calling the handset a camera. To which we would argue that the device is still first and foremost a phone.

This is not a crappy phone but there are phones with much better camera (even if phoneArena say otherwise").

Apparently everyone on PhoneArena (including the authors) hate Apple, though I don't know why. This is the first article that has negative views about the new iPhone ad. A few lines from CultOfMac: "The ending voiceover says, “Every day, more photos are taken with the iPhone than any other camera.” Simple, pleasant, classy. Apple." And I agree with that. Ray S, I'd love to see you write articles related to Apple.

Hey, at least my hate for Apple is logical and have reasons. Compared to the other things I hate (e.g justin bieber), Apple is the one I know I hate and know they absolute reasons why

In my opinion the add doesnt make me want to buy the iPhone 5 though, because it hasnt shown me anything new, different, or interesting. I thinks its too simple. That being said, I think its much better than Samsung's new random punk rebellion S4 ad.

I think Samsung super bowl Ad is 10x better. Samsung is willing and able to spent their profit on others like making a decent advertisement, unlike the rotten fruit that lock up their profit in a tightly seal vault that benefit no one. I hate APPLE plain and simple...

Talking about Samsung's ad, eh? Have a look at the new Galaxy S4 ad. Termed as the most ridiculous ad by gsmarena it shows pretty much nothing about the Galaxy S4, just that it barely fits in the pockets of that punk chic. Also please care to read this: Unlike Samsung, whose ads have now stopped making sense entirely, the new iPhone ad shows people actually using the phone. You can see people taking photos with the device in every day conditions, editing them on the phone and then sharing them. The new ad brings back the class and charm of old Apple ads with the use of endearing and relatable scenarios and plays to the tune of a soft and beautiful piano piece. The ad ends with telling you that more photos are taken with the iPhone than any other camera, likely quoting the Flickr statistics that clearly show the iPhone as the top camera on the website (which includes other mobile phones and dedicated cameras). The new ad is a clear improvement over some of Apple’s recent ads and light years ahead of what everyone else is doing (except for Google, who seems to be the only other technology company who knows how to do ads anymore). Hopefully, they’ll be releasing more of these soon. Sourced from gsmarena.

Firstly, I am not an Apple fan. Secondly, I just want you to know which company makes a decent advertisement. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

Haha, I get it. So you have a problem with Apple's bank balance. Neither company pays you a penny. So stop trolling.

Please share us your story. Were you bullied by an Apple employee when you went inside an Apple store? Maybe Steve Jobs burned your entire village when you were little? We would like to know where the hatred is coming from. Dear Diary,

The hatred comes because they sell a half-assed phone running some ancient software that allows near zero customization at higher prices than the best phones. Same thing with macs, like a pc you can build for ~$2000 would cost like $6000+ because it has an apple logo on it.

Please don't quote gsmarena because it will not do much for your case, that guy spends is time rubbing apple all over himself, I can't believe that they even allow a blogger to do so much advertising to a brand! Maybe the punk samsung ad doesn't make much sense but this goes the same route, both are visually interesting and they don't show you nothing relevant.

Is just a commercial, what's the big deal about it? The iPhone 5 takes great pictures and yes many people including myself don't have a dedicated point and shoot camera and just use their smartphones for pictures. I wouldn't be surprised is Apple made a commercial and called the iPhone the most used hand heald video game console either, since the game library of the iPhone is very good. What kind of stupid article is this though?

I agree, this article is too much of HATE. The iPhone 5 takes great pictures, and there's nothing wrong with the announcer said "Every day, more photos are taken with the iPhone than any other camera." And I'm angry when I read "Technically, Apple is calling the handset a camera. To which we would argue that the device is still first and foremost a phone." That makes no sense at all. (sigh) Haters gonna hate!

Hahaha.....this is the real xperiaDROID. I'm not an Apple hater, I don't hate them, I just don't like them because they aren't creative, the iPhone's and iPad's design looks boring, and the suing too! They always sue other manufacturers, Apple needs to change and behave properly. :)

Yeah, but you know what, at least the new iPad mini's design is a bit different and obviously better than all the tablets out there. And when it comes to the iPhone 5, though it looks same on the front, the back is totally new and gorgeous. C'mon you can't say no to that. I highly recommend you to hold their products and feel the difference. I mean, glass+chamfered edges+anodized aluminium Vs cheap plastic of other competitive products, duh? Hope you get what I'm saying. :)

Apple has every rights to be the bastard they are!! Freedom of choice, freedom to choose. Freedom to be a Big Ass Bastard. Its up to individual to vote with their money, for now my money is on Samsung for their big screen, sdcard and removable battery...I am a bit tempted by HTC One sleeker body and great UI. Anyway, my next phone is not due yet.

Then I suggest you to get the Galaxy S4 or the HTC One. Actually, the iPhone 5 is not bad at all, it has a great camera, but Apple products have too many limitations, so it's troublesome, you need to jailbreak it. But still, the iPhone 5 is not bad, great camera, easy to use! Good luck with your choice! :)

My first Apple product is an 15" MacBook pro bought in 2007, I also own the iPad 1 follow by MacBook pro 2012 March edition 13.3. Then the iPad 3. My favorite pastime used to be hanging out at apple store. I never quite want an iPhone as I was happy with my Nokia Symbian phone then.. Well, that history!! I used to be a apple fanboy as they really was cool and innovative then. "i" was really iconic in 2007/2008. Now "i" is the best represented by idiotic idiotic CEO, idiotic fans and idiotic number of lawsuits. ZERO innovation, Apple fan was so thrill of when they announce the notification bar in WWDC iOS 5 in 2012 while Android has it in their first release butter cookie. I have to learn the truth from my casual Android user that Apple actually copied that idea from Android. Well, if apple could wow me with their new product i would still buy it in a heartbeat but so far... nothing which is just as well.

Yeah, memories........ "i" was really iconic in 2007, but few years later, many things have changed, the Apple is not the good fruit anymore. It start the suing, it start the patent thing, it start the suing battle with Samsung, and the design of their iProducts haven't change! (sigh) We can't say that Cook is an idiotic CEO, but if you want a good Apple CEO, then it will be Steve Wozniak. Right?
