Neither Bell Canada nor Telus will carry the Lumia 920, Rogers may be exclusive
The carriers’ responses to a couple of customer inquiries about the next flagship device from Nokia revealed that the Lumia 920 is not in their plans.

TELUS was arguably a little cryptic, stating that “The Nokia 920 is not part of the list of phones coming to TELUS by the end of the year.” That could mean that a Nokia Windows Phone 8 will find a place in their stable next year. The Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 610 have been part of their line-up, so hopefully a relationship will remain between the carrier and the Finnish manufacturer.

Bell Canada does indeed plan on offering two Windows Phone 8 devices, but neither of them will be the Lumia 920. The devices have not been announced by Bell yet, but there are not so many choices to pick from. As Bell does not currently offer any Huawei devices in their line-up, we are pretty comfortable setting the expectation that they will offer the Samsung ATIV S and one of the HTC 8 devices.

That leaves Rogers, and Canada’s largest carrier has not yet announced if the new Lumias will be offered. Since they do sell the Lumia 900, one would hope that the 920 will follow later this year.

If any of our Canadian readers get any tips about the new Nokia Lumias being offered by the carriers there, let us know!

If Rogers is getting an exclusive in Canada, that could mean AT&T exclusivity here in the states.

A very short sighted stance these two companies will quickly regret. The 920 is the best windows 8 phone on the planet.

Shouldn't you be cursing your carrier too? I hope you don't have sprint as I'm sure they won't pay up to get good phones on their slow network. They are sinking money in their LTE coverage

FYI, it is the carriers who decides what phones they will carry, not Nokia trust me they would sell to anyone if they could, the exclusive carrier thing is what they demand, again not Nokia.

This isn't really accurate. Carriers pay for exclusivity, not the other way around. In this case Rogers paid a fee (likely not very much), to be the exclusive carrier of the Lumai 900 to try and drive a few customers over to them. It appears they will do the same with the 920. Nokia could pass on this fee and offer the phone to all carriers, like Apple and Samsung do, but it appears they will continue to be shortsighted and take a small upfront payday rather than try to expand their brand.

Bell didn't have Lumia 800/900 either (as well as any other No My wife stayed with Bell for 7 years until 1 day when she received a bill for about $300 and then another month for $200. The expanation was that her contract came to the end and they switched her to a new terms without notification. Since then Bell doesn't exist for me. I am with Rogers now and they defenetely have the best phones to choose from. I'm very excited about Nokia Lumia 920.
