New Motorola Moto G5 Plus image shows up, reveals some features

First spotted in early January, the unannounced Motorola Moto G5 Plus can now be seen in a new leaked photo. Apparently originating from Brazil, the photo shows the smartphone with a marketing cover over its display - thus, we can check out some of its highlight features.

Until now, we assumed that the Moto G5 Plus would sport a 5.5-inch display, but the newly leaked image shows that the screen is actually a 5.2-inch one. This means that the Moto G5 Plus won't be significantly larger than the normal, 5-inch Moto G5 (which is expected to be launched alongside it). In any case, the screens of both models will offer 1080p resolutions.

The G5 Plus is powered by a 2 GHz octa-core processor (probably a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625), further featuring NFC, fingerprint scanner, a 12 MP "rapid focus" rear camera, and a 3000 mAh battery with TurboPower quick charging. While this isn't confirmed by the new photo, the smartphone should have 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory, almost certainly running Android 7 Nougat.

Both the Moto G5 Plus and Moto G5 will likely be announced at MWC 2017 on February 26, and could hit shelves around the world as soon as March.

This may be the regular G5 and not the Plus. I hope the regular G5 also has a fingerprint sensor.

I felt it made moto stand out from other OEMs who had almost same design line (rounded rectangle)

I think moto G5 plus screen size is 5.5 inches.I dont seen any phone reduces the display size in regard to previous generation. Also this design language also become old.We get decent looking phones in this price bracket too like Honor 6x,redmi note 4 etc.I think the design language must improved on Moto G line.

Good specs, screen should have been 5'. But 5.2' is way better than 5.5'. Hope camera quality also improves than g4 plus

I was looking forward to the G5+ but if it's not getting a 5.5" screen then there's no sale to me.

still 3000 mAh only..that is what will make people choose Redmi Note 4 instead.

Only in places where it is readily available though. Definitely not North America, for example.

Whatever this phone is exactly, if it's around $200, I am spending my money on it! I need sd625 but was on the fence about a 5.5 screen. Now I suspect my search for my next phone is over... That battery is gonna last ~15hrs on screen time!! Can't wait!

With a modest battery size, your expectation won't be the truth. And 200 dollar moto g phones seem impossible judging from the 4th gen, considering it's sd625 now, and z play sells for >75% higher.

A lot could come down to that 5.2" screen. 1.) $200 is probably a little optimistic but ZTE v8 pro is $230 and a smaller screen is at least a little cheaper to produce. Hoping for maybe $250 on pre-order. 2.) the moto z gets something like 14 hrs OST. It has a slightly bigger battery but it also has the 5.5 screen. Again, probably a bit optimistic but could be close :)

Just read from GSMA that Galaxy A5 2017 with also 5.2 in 3000mAh lasts pretty long. Whether Exynos lasts longer than Snapdragon on 14nm chips is another question (which a lot of people know). 14 hours OST as in wifi browsing or video watching?

12 mp rapid focus camera... I'm hoping it's dual pixel like s7's
