Microsoft's golden Lumia 930 and Lumia 830 won't be available just in China
Earlier today, we told you that a gold version of the Nokia Lumia 930 was introduced in China. Not long after that, Microsoft confirmed that the golden edition of the handset, called Lumia 930 Gold, will be sold not just in China, but also in select markets across Europe, Asia, and Africa (no love for the US, though). In addition, a Nokia Lumia 830 Gold will also be released in the same regions.

Both the Lumia 930 Gold and Lumia 830 Gold have white and back variants - obviously with golden accents. Of course, there’s no real gold in here, just a golden paint job.

While the black Lumia 930 Gold is available starting this week, the white one will be released at the end of January. As for the Lumia 830 Gold, interested customers will have to wait until February to be able to actually buy one. Microsoft says that prices for the two handsets will vary by country and operator.

New looks aside, the Lumia 930 Gold and Lumia 830 Gold offer the same features as the original models, including Windows Phone 8.1 and 5-inch displays (1080p on the Lumia 930, and 720p on the Lumia 830). So, who’s looking forward to getting a golden Lumia?

Overpriced phones, even more overpriced now. I actually wanted a Lumia 830, but it's horribly overpriced in the US

it's not a bad looking phone, price way off thought, especially after the debute of the asus xenfone 2. I wish the 830 would get touchless voice control like the 930, because the 930 is out of price range.

Those are beautiful phones made for the most discerning of consumers. Be ready to pay the price for great quality.

You can always get both Unlocked on Ebay. Last time I saw the Lumia 830 it was priced around 349 which is good enough if you consider what you get. You can always sell your phone on contract and get the SIM free Lumia

I paid 400 for the 930. And 350 for a 1020. To me not overpriced in the least.

That gold 930 would make a nice collector's item. Too bad it's overpriced and the software is suspect...

Microsoft's two best phones are a year old, (930), and a year and half old, (1520). How about an update for those in the US who would like something a little better than the 500 and 600 devices.

At least they look like actual gold, not like the apple "champagne" colors that were purported to be golden.
