Microsoft is giving away Dell Venue 8 Pro tablets to developers in the US
In its efforts to attract developers to Windows, Microsoft has become the company that just keeps on giving. Its latest promotion is the App Builder Rewards program. It revolves around giving away 28 Dell Venue 8 Pro tablets to talented developers in the US. Coders who join the App Builder Rewards must enter their Windows Store apps to the Apps Quest. Then, the apps have to amass 100 downloads before February 28 to get a chance of scoring a Venue 8. And if they have less than a hundred downloads by the 28th Feb, developers will be awarded a $15 Windows Store gift card. To aid themselves in the competition, app makers can utilize the members-only App Promotion Kit, Windows Store gift cards, and AdDuplex advertising impressions.

While the exact mechanics of the giveaway haven't been made public, it seems that winners will be chosen by the number of App Builder Rewards points and sweepstakes entries they receive. For starters, every app that reaches 100 downloads by 28 February will net 500 App Builder Rewards points to its creator, and will compete for a free tablet.

If you want to participate in the giveaway, follow the source link and don't forget to read the fine print.

The app must reach 100 downloads to compete, and given the small number of WP users around... :)

That quarter reports 8.2 Lumia sales. Add that to the previous sales and you get millions of WP users. So he is right in saying that those millions are "Not small numbers"!

Really, that's desperate from M$. Quantity doesn't mean quality. Anybody can say "I'm a developer, give me a tablet".
