For the longest time, the cross-town rivalry between LG and Samsung has been quite apparent with their products — they constantly work on mimicking the better ideas of the other with the software and hardware of their own devices. Case in point: LG's proprietary Android UI is a lot alike to Samsung's TouchWiz, at least if you consider the versions before the ones that launched with the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge and are less feature-filled than ever before. That is, LG's skin has always been the only real alternative to Samsung's chock-full-of-extras TouchWiz, so power users have always had to make a choice between the two.
Now that Samsung has transitioned to a more streamlined experience, however, LG has its first real shot at taking the functionality crown. Whether that'll end up being the case is hard to tell just yet, but nothing's stopping us from exploring what's what with LG's latest flagship's — the G4 — software. If you're intrigued by the G4, or are already a happy owner, we'll made sure to take notes whilst looking around the UI, and have rounded them up in the below collection of tips & tricks.
