Jam on this – Apple discounts Apple Music subscriptions by half for students

14comments

Apple is doing its part in supporting education / promoting Apple Music by introducing a 50% subscription discount for students enrolled in eligible colleges and universities across the U.S., U.K., Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. What's especially nice of Apple's is that the discount is offered for up to four non-continuous years after the initial sign-up, which means students can take gaps or breaks between semesters and resume their half-price subscription if they return to study! Moreover, the plan is open to students of all ages, regardless of their degree, and existing subscribers will be able to take advantage of it as well.

Apple is expected to follow up with an interface and functionality overhaul of its music streaming service. Reportedly, the company is making its service more intuitive and improving the discoverability tools so subscribers can find new music more easily. The new Apple Music app is scheduled for an introduction at the company's WWDC event in June, and will possibly debut in iOS 10 for mobile devices and via an iTunes update for Macs.
