HP mistakenly tries to sue one of its own partners
If we had to describe the mess that HP got involved in with one single term, facepalm would probably be the most suitable one. In what seems to be a mess stirred up by miscommunication, the company just attempted to sue a German business that it had already partnered up with.

Long story short, Greenova Services GmbH was hired by HP to handle refunds to German customers who purchased an HP TouchPad before the tablet's price got slashed. However, many local medias claimed that Greenova's services were a fraud since submitting a refund application online requested users' bank information. Eventually, HP filed a lawsuit against the company seemingly unaware that it was trying to sue one of its current partners.

Of course, the lawsuit has been dropped already after HP Germany confirmed that the refund was not a scam. Still, the whole story goes to show how embarrassing a simple misunderstanding can be.
