Group Sense PDA introduces the first SavaJe OS-powered cellphone

Group Sense PDA Limited (GSPDA), offering mobile handsets under the Xplore name and SavaJe Technologies Inc., introduced the first handset, powered by the Java-based open OS – SavaJe. The SavaJe OS allows for simple customization. Through deep-theming functionality, the operation system enables users to choose their applications and menus, as well as color schemes, sounds, backgrounds and icons for both built-in and downloaded software. The GSPDA's bar-designed multimedia handset features:

  • 262k color TFT display
  • 1.3 megapixel camera with video capture
  • Bluetooth
  • SD memory card to store up to 2GB
  • MP3 audio player
  • MP4 video player
  • USB 2.0

The GSPDA's Xplore-branded SavaJe phone is expected to be commercially available in Asia in the first quarter of 2006. Tailored versions of the device, matching the specific needs of the operators, are to be offered in Europe and the U.S., as the company doesn't have a large presence there.
